Do you know much about Chad Dawson? If so, how good is he?

I have known Chad since he was about 11....I have sparred as many as 12 rounds at a time with him in the gym and I trained him for several fights as a pro, too. He is a VERY GOOD fighter, very good skills, reflexes, power, etc etc. A handful for anyone in the world at 175

 

What do you think about his chin?

Did you ask him why he got gun shy after Adamek knocked him down?

 

Gunshy? He threw plenty of punches not 15 seconds after that KD, and actually looked to have stunned Adamek. He also won the next round if I remember correctly.

 

Chad's chin is undecided I think at this point..he did get dropped quickly by Harding but recovered very well. He got dropped harder by Adamek but recovered just as well. Its not like he's going down and OUT, just down a few times.

 

Also I am a full time amateur and pro trainer already, plus I spar with my fightrs so I still get the bet of both worlds

 

dawson also was dropped in the first round of a fight by a left hand in 2003 or 4
v willie mays or something like that his name was, but got up to stop him a few rounds later.

good reach
good handspeed /good footspeed for a light heavy/
good power in his right hand/
nice jab and snappy right hook off it.
nice movement and ring generalship
being southpaw always an advantage
good combo`s .
good v stand up boxers

weak points or unknown points/

he is a right handed fighter fighting southpaw and all his power is off his right side/
he squares up his feet , not having his right foot out in front a lot of the time meaning his left hand , his weaker hand anyway does not generate power as he is not in balance for his left hand work usually only his right hand.
can go down from fairly innocuos shots which loses points but recuperation powers seem good which is what counts.
not sure what he is like when going gets tough which is not his fault.

a few questions still to answer, has been working a lot on developing his left hand and i like his attitude in and out of the ring.
a work in progress and it will only be the question mark over his chin that might be his downfall.

personaly i like watching him box/nice styleist/mixes up power as well/nice workrate and keeps a nice tempo and in all the fights i have seen of him the ref hardly is seen.
