Yes indeed. Both men are capable of winning this. If Shogun is really back to his winning ways he could very well chop Jones to bits. If Jones is everything we think he is- he's going to toss Shogun around like a ragdoll.

We need a good forum wide avatar bet for this one!

Of course he can, whether he will or not is another debate.

Not 100% and Rua becomes average and beatable against guys like Griffin and Coleman who a peak Rua could beat in 1 round!

Jones wrestling and GnP could win it but Rua at his best could close the show early.

I agree 100%, thats why I'm having a hard time picking Jones over Shogun.

Rua will beat Jones by KO or TKO.

People thought Machida couldn't even be hit never mind be beaten, and Rua beat him twice (IMO). And Machida is a damn good fighter... and more proven than Jones.

Jones looks fantastic, but his resume is shoddy, he's never been hurt and he's never been under pressure.

Rua will test him physically and mentally, and I don't think an untested young fighter will be able to stand up to that.

Rua's deadly Muay Thai striking beats Jones's "unorthodox" (ie: technically suspect) striking.

As long as Rua is in good physical shape, he wins. :deal

Rua may very well punish Jones standing, but he has to stay on the outside. If Jones gets a hold of him, Rua is going for a ride and then getting the bloody **** beating out of him on the ground.

Yes because Jones has a history of dealing with strikers and Rua has never mauled strong guys in the clinch himself....

This is an awesome match up. I can see either fighter winning.

I don't think Shogun's stand-up will be an issue in the first 2-3 rounds. If the fight makes it to the 3rd of 4th, that could change. I think Jones will have little problem taking Shogun down in the beginning. Be it submissions, sweeps, or good guard play; Rua will have to have success off his back if he hopes to win. If not, look for Jones to dominate from the top.
