Although Rua is Godlike, Jones has a 1% chance.

no way jones will beat rua,he has never faced anyone with the skill set of shogun.the only thing jones has going for him is his length but that wont be enough.he gets finished before the championship rounds and everyone who was on the bones jones band wagon will jump off and truly remember how great shogun really is

:good exactly rua has been in there with the best of the best. Rampage-Machida-noguiera-liddell(past prime)-overeem-randleman-arona etc. This dude is battle tested. Bones isn't and that is why i like rua in this fight. Jones has the talent but he hasn't beat anybody good enough to make me pick him over shogun.

jones is special and even if he loses to shogun, his time isn't far away.

what's intimidating about jones is that he's a late starter in MMA - which is probably why he's so unorthodox.

but this guy has more than natural ability, he really has the 'x' factor, and the way he improvises and is so unpredictable in his fights is a big part of why he'll be a great champ.

even if jones does lose he's the future of the sport.

wasnt being dismissive about rua, he is a great fighter and his achievements obviously overshadow bones jones at this early stage of his carreer, was just amking the point that anyone can be beat on any given night and that although the cards appear stacked in his favour, its not gonna be an easy night at teh office for shogun, cos in mma there is no such thing

yea coming off injury. Rua is 100% now and his cardio is better. That's what really made him lose to griffin is his cardio. Dude looks like he was dead tired after the 2nd round.

Will this still be the case if Rua turns in a Coleman-like performance?

He has improved quite a bit since the Bonnar fight, and he has beaten quality opponents with ease, in fact he has made it to easy and his only possibly weakness might be how he faces adversity. He has hardly taken a punch, and with his 84" reach and unorthadox stances nobody has been able to get to him. And then his TD's are another weapon which he has put good wrestlers down with ease, and no one has been able to Take him down.

Rua is the best fighter he has faced so far but I think Jones has the tools to beat him.
