Do you think a title belt should be at stake for the PAC-Cotto fight?

As a bargaining chip I guess it still means something as far as me actually caring about it being yet another supposed world championship fight - zilch. ...I only care if good fighters are matched against eachother I like watching good fights and could care less about the more political side of boxing.

 

To add to that good fighters have been matched against eachother and im excited to watch.

 

Its at welterweight, they have agreed 145 between them, that's their business, but its at welterweight so cottos belt should at stake. If Pacquaio wins then he will have defend his title at 147, unless his opponent agrees to a catchweight between 140 and 147. I fink.

 

I think yes solely based on the fact that I find it unfair to Pacquiao that other fighters have fought for titles at catchweights and noone complained, but people get pissed off when Pac does it

Why is Pacquiao subjected to these double-standards?

 

To address the double-standard issue they were pretty much created by haters to hate they prefer someone else to there said guy for example Mosley and Margarito why does Mosley get so much less hate than Margarito for cheating because on average people prefer him. In Pacquaio's case people always love to hate on the top dog It's always been that way everyone's talking about the one fighter and ignoring the others ..getting a huge fan base thats often stupid and over hyping the hell of him gets much hate. In my book though Pac beats Cotto and then Mayweather I might have to declare him a living god.

 

You *******s are about to brag that Pac won titles in 7 divisions if Pac wins, yet Pac/Roach asked a man to come in at 143, and he agrees to come in at 145...for the money. Why should the title be on the line at a catch weight when the champ can't weigh in at the weight he wants? People think Roach is trying to weaken Cotto. Nobody thought that Pav, Hop, and Chavez and others would be weakened making weight. We do know that the last major case of weight weakening at a catch weight came when Leonard beat Lalonde, and Lalonde ran out of energy before being brutally ko'd by Leonard. People know how Cotto struggled to make weight at 140, and fans are wondering why Pac is making a big difference over two pounds, and Pac's fans saying two pounds is nothing. Then why ask Cotto to lose those two pounds???

 

Meh this should be a good fight regardless if there is a belt at stake or not.

Why would it be for a belt, and it is not being fought at 147? This is for pound for pound status, no belt is needed. It shouldn't even be called a Welterweight fight!! All of these catch weights are getting out of hand any way. If you are the p4p champ, you should fight at any weight in your range. He fought Oscar at 147, why not Cotto...

Why should any boxer have to pay some crazzy outrages price for one of those belt? If you win it you have to give a percent of your purse to own it. The hell with the belts.

He is the one that has to cut weight (not a lot, I know) so it should be his choice... if he didnt put the belt on the line tho, it would reek of lack of confidence.
