At 140 it would've been a pick em fight with both men being hurt, at 147 I only see a cotto victory. At 140 Cotto was being hurt in fights he shouldn't have been where I've never seen Hatton in to much trouble. At 147 though it's a complete reversal, Cotto is very comfortable and takes the punches a lot better, where Hatton has shown he can't handle 147. That's my take on it anyway.
2 boxers who come to fight and have both been worthy champs. But again Hatton has problems fighting the bigger men and Cotto is loving life at 147. I think Hatton should stay light welter and forget Cotto as i would think Cotto would take this fight and Hatton does`nt need it. Cotto and Mayweather would be interesting and could be the fight of the yr if it takes place. Mayweathers best chance would be to fight him this yr as i think next yr it`ll be Cotto time to rule the Welterweight div. PBF just can`t go on forever.:hat
Jeeeez! A lot of Hatton bashing here! In all honesty I think Hatton would have a good chance against Cotto. His style, body attck and relentless nature mean he can be a handful for most fighters. However, Cotto is too big and ultimatley too good for Ricky who would come up short in this one.
I could not agree more with your comments about this match up. In fact if this fight were to happen that would really be the end for Hatton. I doubt he is the same after what PBF did to him but style wise Cotto would inflict the pain sooner and more conclusively if that were possible. Remember Julio Cesar Chavez versus one of my all time favourites Edwin "EL Chapo" Rosario. Needless to say Rosario was never the same again.
Bull****. That implies Hatton and Cotto are somehow on the saem level. The fight will never happen because its a mismatch and Hatton would get killed. That's like saying: Wlad beats Mosely at heavy. Mosely beats Wlad at Welter, thats why it will never happen. STFU.
That's not like saying that at all, because there are about 7 divisions between Mosley/Wlad and 7 pounds between Cotto and Hatton. Cotto would beat Hatton at 147, he's a monster at that weight, whereas Hatton looks like a 140 fighter fighting at welterweight. Cotto at 140 would get beat by Hatton, because Hatton's a beast at that weight, whereas Cotto is vulnerable.
:happy :happy what cotto showed against mosely was to me more impressive than what hatton did against zoo (although a great win) i think cotto loses to pbf but beats hatton pretty comfortably.
For ****s sake this same old bull**** with you Hatton zealots. Do you really think 7lbs is that much of a sacred diffrence? There was a time when Cotto was trying to make 35 so Arum could make him a world champ because 140 was so stacked.Cotto was a rising prospect then and Hatton never fought him and had no interest in him.But you in all your wisdom believe that Hatton has any advantages vs Cotto style at 7lbs lower? What if they fight at 54,60,68 or **** it 175? Actually what if they fought at 35? Do you see how stupid your pathetic mantra sounds?? The weight is completely immaterial. Styles make FIGHT! And Hattons at ANY weight is not suffcient enough to beat a guy like Cotto.Get used to it your boys about to get exposed AGAIN.Its only a matter of when.
Your a hopeless cause. Hatton looked vulnerable when he fought Tackie Phillips Eamon Magee Jon Thaxton and Floyd 3lbs!!!!! Thats right a WHOLE 3lbs above 140!! Let me guess his still a monster at the weight though but completely overmatched as soon as he creeps a few lbs over.
Did you see him against Tackie and Phillips? How was he vulnerable, he absolutely beat the shite out of Phillips. And he outboxed Tackie with ease. They both landed a good punch each in the two fights. Of course 7 pounds makes a difference, Cotto has chin issues at 140, but not at 147....Hatton has chin issues at 147, but not at 140. Cotto has really grown into 147, he's very powerful there, if he had to lose 7 pounds to fight Hatton he'd be drained and he'd get beat. In the same way Hatton can't grow into a proper WW and would get dominated by Cotto.
Yeah Hatton really beat up a relic in Phillips didnt he.Seems like you conviently forgot how badly hurt he was in BOTH fights. As for Cotto making 140 your argument is futile and pathetic you may aswell debate the virtues of Joe making 160 because Hopkins could more than likely still make the weight rather than them fight at 175.
the weight thing is just a convenient excuse for Hatton and his turkeys to wheel out. He would be outboxed by a 140lb Collazo too. That would settle this, I wonder if the man can make 140. how many supposed top class boxers go from being a monster at their first weight class to being something a lot less just a few lbs north? That's what Hatton lunatics are claiming and it's total bollocks.
O Foquinha, Hatton's style is based around bullying opponents, dominating them on the inside and hurting them with accumulative punches. The same style of fighters at 147 are HUGE, Margarito is waaay bigger than Hatton, so it Cotto. How is he supposed to make a dent in these guys? Then you have people like Floyd who can cope with him physically and holds advantages in reach and speed. Scurla, he battered Phillips, how Phillips was still standing I don't know....Phillips caught him with one good punch, Ricky wasn't in serious trouble. Tackie got outboxed and caught Ricky with ONE good punch in the last round.
