then i counter you with that 10-8 round for JMM in the 8th with a 10-8 round for pac in the 10th, pac was just as dominate in that round as was Marquez was in the 8th.
Not necessarily. The rule is that it's a KD if the guy would have touched the ground if he hadn't grabbed onto the ropes. I thought it was a close call. It was in the last second of the round, and I wouldn't have complained had it been scored a knockdown, but honestly I thought he would have stayed on his feet had the ropes not been there, so I was fine with a no-KD call. He's lucky the round ended right then though. 15 more seconds and the fight would have been over.
The ref never saw it. Evidently, one or two judges did and in my opinion, that was what swung the fight. Otherwise, I scored it a draw! Pacman didn't really try to win the 12th though...if he had pressed it a bit, there would have been an extra point in it.
Yes he missed it, but I will never talk bad about him, because he was my old basketbal coach and track coach and a real down to earth person.
I agree with you that it should probably have been a 10-7 on that count. But on another point, there should never have been a round 4,5,6... if Pac knew how to finish, it would have been all over. Great balls shown by JMM in surviving, and making the comeback, but , like Taylor vs Pavlik (1), when you have a guy that stunned, there's no excuse for letting him back in the fight (unless the bell is imminent). it's like a penalty shot in football. The goalie should never have a chance.
You're arguing with hypotheticals against something that actually happened which is a legit missed call. Great balls by JMM for surviving and getting back up. But if JMM learned how to not get KD'ed, he'd have won the first fight and last night's fight. The bell was imminent. 10 more seconds it would've been over.
You can't learn how not to get wobbled like that. (I don't just mean aKD like occassionally happened to Tito, or Ali where the bounced right back up, usually more pissed than anything else. I mean knocked down and seriously stunned, as in Pabvlik in Taylor (10 and JMM last night) But you CAN learn how to finish such a hapless victim off. (Although, there might not have been enough time left in the round)
