Pac didn't really jab with Cotto. He did however time Cotto's jab very easily. Cotto actually landed more jabs on Mosley than Floyd did

He doesn't jab nearly as consistency as he used to, and he's not much a jabber against southpaws anyway. The Judah and Corley fights are actually perfect indicators of what he shouldn't do. He shouldn't stand in front of a Pacquiao behind a guard and look for one shot at a time. He needs to give a lot of lateral movement, use his jab and throw combinations. If he tries to press Pac like he did those fighter's he's going to get beat down

Even if he does use his feet pac can stay right there with him. Pac has faster feet and hands, and you guys seem to be ignoring the fact that Floyd will be on a year lay off. He was looking sloppy in the Mosley fight and he'll be rusty if he jumps in there with Pac.

We have to consider that Cotto throws moar punches than Floyd, and that Cotto's best punch IS the jab. Cotto threw 78 moar jabs than Floyd did against Mosley, but his connect % is lower. The jab isn't even Young Mayweather's best punch.

like I said, it's distracting, it draws attention away from what you're posting making focusing on answering the question that much more difficult. But hey, whatever floats your boat, I've made my peace, I'm out.

He threw more jabs then Mayweather. Mayweather landed at 40%, Cotto landed at 34%

Different strategies for different fighters. emmanuel IS NOT similar to Judah and Corley save the stance.

Look at how Morales and Marquez were able to control emmanuel with the jab; The Black Mamba and Joy Sr definitely saw it and will incorporate it into Floyd's gameplan. With the influence of Joy Sr back, the jab is now a common weapon for Floyd.

Very true. He uses it differently now then say the way he used it at 130/35. Much different fighter today then those days from what I have observed. It's more of a real range finder for him now vs points weapon. Floyd knows better then anyone what modern day event judges look for and he has the best right hand in the business love him or hate him. Seems able to land that right hand in a myriad of different situations. He's also one of the best fighters off the back foot I have ever seen. Before I get accused of nuthuggery or any other phantom word of the day I can't stand Mayweather the person. That dislike does not follow when discussing his pugilistic abilities.. The mans a gym rat so I dont see rust as any real problem. His personal life could be.

Floyds problem with Manny for me is not the jab. It's the speed of Manny and from the left side. He's faster then Zab and those straight lefts are coming and probably from the opening bell would be my guess.

Floyd's right hand will be landing right after the opening bell rings. If you watch the Zab Judah fight closely, Floyd ends up TAKING AWAY Zab's left. Neutralizing a right hand IS NOT emmanuel's strong point.

floyd right straigh although a good one dont have power and floyd is a minimal puncher...he will run a lot vs pac and hope for a decision, he's gonna have to throw more puches to beat pac which will create more opening vs a volume puncher with power.....

It seems that the passion obliterate the brain. Pac can't box with Floyd anything, jabs, staright hooks. Anybody that tell the opposite is a passionate fanatic. JMM do nothing better than Floyd, he has absolute nothing better and he mop thre floor with Paquiao the first time and won the other too. And easy fight for Floyd. Floyd can fight any style better, much better than Pac, and that includes fighting. In the inside fight Pac is Doomed, at middle diatance Doomed aan at long range Doomed. The only ones who said the opposite are the same that after Floyd fights came with the same lame excuses. Example that Floyd run?? He run to Judah, to Mosley, To Marquez To de la Hoya??? If you answe is yes, then in the absolute you watch your fights. He did not run and never has done that. Nazim is the first to said that. He is in your face fighter, that blocks ducks your punches and destory the adversary with power punches with precision. Cotto does not have defense precision and condition. A crappy fighter. Floyd easily over Pac, and more anger in this forum after the whip.

jmm mopping the floor with pac?....in order to mop the floor , you have to touch it, jmm kissed it 4 times vs pac at his best weight....jmm vs floyd was 3 division out of jmm's natural weightclass, if he fights pac at 47, it'll be a onesided beatdown by pac!
