He fought ODLH in the US. But that feels like it was 20 years ago

This is my hope - though I won't be surprised if I'm disappointed - there is hints that GGG could fight Geale and Murray in 2014. Although Maravilla is clearly focused on Cotto, there's just the possibility of a late 2014/ early 2015 fight - Lewcowitz had said that GGG is very much an opponent they have in mind, but if it doesn't happen fairly soon, it won't - Sergio has 2 or 3 top fights left in him at most IMO.

I think Cotto and Canelo are definitely Sergios first priorities. Then probably 3G.

Geale and Murray in 2014 would be some good opponents for 3G and I hope these fights will happen. :good

The circus with the WBA title a couple of years ago proved one thing - Sturm (and N'Kijam for that matter) will not be forced, under any circumstances, to fight Golovkin. It isn't happening, in Monte Carlo, Germany or anywhere else.

And that justifies jobbing other people does it? Lost all respect for Sturm when he didn't rematch Macklin straight away after clearly losing that fight. Awful decision. I don't even like Macklin I think he's vastly overrated on these boards but the outcome of that fight was criminal.

And now we can enjoy the belt being held hostage in the fatherland whilst Felix has a million voluntary defences against complete stiffs.

Guys, Sturm has been afraid of Artur freaking Abraham. Why on earth would have to happen for him to consider GGG?

Sturm no longer is WBA superchamp but IBF champion. The IBF usually has mandatory challengers once a year.

yes, and since the belts are spread over four different fighters none will ever be a mandatory for the other.

It all boils down to legacy and pride, and you can bet Sturm WILL NEVER face a GGG, Sergio or even Quillin. Never happen. He will indeed feast on eurotrash as long as he can. And THAT, exactly, is what is wrong with the sport today.

tbh I think Sturm would beat Quillin. Sturm is far more proven as a fighter than PQ.

No, he is a good mofo ! You don't stay at the top that long on luck alone. To see how long you stay on top through luck look at geale or barker!!!

How can you say this. Mac did what his two peers failed to do. ..... Beat sturm .... Yet if anything he is vastly UNDERAPPRECITED! Come on!
Also Felix does not fight stiffs....most are genuine challengers.

Macklin was pretty much robbed in that fight but on the other hand Geale got the decision vs Sturm in Germany. :hey
