I would rather step in the ring with a 68-98 Foreman. The 2011 version might only catch me with a glancing blow as I run away, and thus is able to catch me with a clean blow as I stand there, stunned. At least 68-98 Foreman is fast enough to flatten me with the first punch he lands. And as I would be out cold, I would not feel a thing!

I would not ever be under the illusion I could even go one round right now with a 60 year old Foreman. The guy will be able to punch at 80 years old.

And Betty White has more energy at 90 (well, okay, her actual birthday isn't for another week and a half) than I had at 10.

LaMotta would kick Satan's ass. On his deathbed, Dempsey told his wife, "Don't worry honey, I'm too mean to die." Jake really is too mean to die.

George, at that second phase of his career, never really did go hard. Very conservative guy. He trusted in his strength and the heavy in his hands to do the job. He was more than willing to drop rounds letting punishment accumulated. And when he did make his push, he always seemed just as relaxed.

    They did the job. Ouch.

Was Wlad's right hand harder than Lewis's?

Exactly! I always laugh when guys talk about how boxers only know how to box and if a pro boxer (retired or not) gets into a street fight, the so-called "street fighter" has an advantage. I mean, come on, does anyone really think Foreman or any other boxer only knows how to fight in a boxing ring? Like if there is no ring or referee involved then the boxer is going to simply stand there and allow himself to get beaten up. Give me a break!

    WTF ?

Are you serious or just trolling ?

    Foreman's only 62.

You wouldn't last the first half of the first round.

i never ment it that way. but fact is fact boxers never trained in using their knees, elbows and feet..
and i think it is not totally strange to imagine when a boxer and kickboxer face eachother that the kikboxer can bring the boxer down with a few very hard and fast lowkicks. i never said that a good amateur kickboxer or wrestler always beats the retired foreman or any other pro boxer. but for me it is not hard to imagine what happens when for example a good amateur wrestler gets an old retired boxer to the ground

compact punches beat kicks all day long, in a street fight do you want to try and punch a guy and ko him or you gonna try a head kick in your jeans? all foreman would have to do is half land a punch and we're out

That's assuming they are able to bring the boxer down. It's not like the boxers are weak, even the journeymen are very strong people.

Again, we're under the assumption that the boxer only knows how to punch and is a bad street fighter.

I'd bet that even a retired, 62 year old George Foreman could out wrestle the majority of people.

I know what you're saying about the kick boxers and what not, but there's a reason boxers are the top dogs of street fighting in the sports world.

When I felt them? Yes, Wlad hit harder than Lewis as far as a one-punch knock you out sort of thing.

I spent many rounds with Lennox in some pretty heated situations and never got put down. Wlad put me down twice in the first two sessions.

Lennox was stronger, though. I think it was speed and delivery, but those are the two most important aspects of a knockout punch. I've never been in with a guy whose straight shots are quicker or harder to avoid. Lewis was easier to defend, but he had more weapons, and in sparring atleast, actually punched to the body and worked in the clinch.

    Exactly.

Any decent quality PRO would make mincemeat out of an amateur or dabbler in his profession, without having to be at his best - let alone a pro who was an ATG and an Olympic champion, plus a mountain of a man to boot.

The thread starter could've at least attempted to make this interesting by asking, "Do you think you could beat Fighting Harada now?"
