a fella at work was telling me how good Joshua is gunna be ,i agreed but also said i reckon he was on the gear due to being able to put on 8lb of solid muscle in 2 months!! the fella looked at me as if i said i had been abducted by aliens!! also , any top athlete/sportsman who gets caught is seriously badly advised
People have a natural sense of 'fair play'. We want to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. They are innocent till proven guilty. And that's a good thing, of course. It's just that there's a fine line between being fair minded and completely gullible. atsch
Unless you have some solid evidence, then we can assume Joshua is not on the gear. That is not called being 'completely gullible' that is called not libelling someone on a public forum. We can all talk about our theories and look for phsyical 'clues' in pictures. But without some real evidence behind it it is meaningless BS.
Quote: Jenna J: Mike the question I hear most from boxing fans lately is How would Tyson do against todays champions. I have you here now, so how do you think you would do against the Klitschkos? Mike Tyson: I would always beat them, listen, I would think the same way that I would think today, Id probably be using some more steroids or something but I was beating them the same way when I wasnt using the stuff. Its very difficult to compete now without using that stuff. I know people say I dont use it but its almost impossible to compete without that stuff, almost impossible. Its part of our culture now. Jenna J: You say its hard for fighters today to compete with without using something. A lot of fighters are taking it now Mike, a lot of fighters are on performance enhancing drugs. What do you think of where boxing is? Mike Tyson: No, no. All the fighters are on it, the ones that can afford it are on it. Thats my opinion only, I havent seen nobody do it but its common knowledge. Jenna J: So you think that a lot of the top fighters today, if theyre at the elite, that they maybe are doing something they shouldnt be doing? Mike Tyson: Well listen, if theyre doing it in baseball, if theyre doing it in football, if theyre doing it in cycling, and you tell me that theyre not doing it in boxing. No, this is not true. In all sports we all want to compete and to be the best and to be the best we will do anything. Theres very little honor in this game for success and accomplishments, we get it any way we can. http://otrboxingradio.com/?p=1650
Quote: Posted by: Mark Vester on 3/14/2007 http://www.boxing*****scene.com/?m=show&opt=printable&id=7773 By Mark Vester Former four-time heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield has been all over the headlines in the last two weeks. After his name was dropped in the middle of a steroid distribution scandal with a list of other top athletes from various sports, the boxing world is beginning to face the reality of fighters taking performance enhancing drugs. Last week, the Times Union of Albany reported that Holyfield was on a customer list (under an alias) at Applied Pharmacy in Mobile, Alabama, one of the pharmacies raided by federal agents for distributing illegal performance enhancing drugs to athletes in every corner of the sports world. Holyfield has not been charged in the investigation. In a recent report by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Holyfield revealed on Tuesday that he may have unknowingly taken a drug that could have come from the pharmacy in question in 2004. He took the drug to help with hormonal problem, but that he stopped after taking the drug two or three times, because the drug did not work. According to Holyfield, the hormonal problem would at times leave him tired and badly fatigued. Holyfield said in 2004 "somebody recommended" he contact a doctor in South Georgia who dealt with hormone drugs. He could not remember the name of the doctor, but thinks he could have been associated with Applied Pharmacy. "A doctor there prescribed something, but I don't know what it was. Hormonal something. All I know is it didn't do anything so I stopped taking it. I only took it two or three times over the summer. They said, 'Just keep taking it.' I said, 'Why, it's not doing anything?' I lost to Larry Donald [in November]," Holyfield told the paper. Holyfield also disclosed to the paper that he was approached with taking steroids in 1988, right before he moved up in weight from cruiserweight to heavyweight. While he decided against taking any drugs, he was told by the person who approached him, someone "high up" in boxing, that former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson was taking steroids "Somebody high up in boxing mentioned to me that there was this other fighter who did steroids and I should too because it wasn't illegal in boxing yet," he said. "I said, 'I'm not going to do that. I ain't no cheater.' I was the undisputed cruiserweight champion and I was in the Olympics. If I started taking steroids, people would say, 'He cheated at everything.' But this guy told me, 'Well, [Mike] Tyson is doing it, you should, too. I said, 'I don't care if Tyson is doing it, I'm not.' " Holyfield said that he is not personally accusing Tyson of taking steroids, just repeating what he was told. He would not reveal the name of the person who told him that Tyson was taking steroids, noting to the paper that "The person is still in boxing. People sue people. I don't need to get into that."
Holyfield-"I laughed when Tyson was demanding that I take a steroid test. I saw Tyson's look when he saw me with my shirt off at the weigh- in for the last fight. He couldn't believe how big and muscular I had become from how hard I trained. I knew he must have convinced himself that I had won the fight cheating somehow, because he couldn't face the fact that I was just stronger than him. I was happy to take a steroid test, because I have never used steroids in my life, but I didn't want Tyson to have comfort of knowing that I was not using steroids. I wanted Tyson to continue to think that I had an unfair advantage over him so he would give himself an excuse for losing again." http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...t-evander-without-a-steroid-test-tyson-coward
Like Bonnie Tyler you're holding out for a hero. End of the day I couldn't care less who's at it. I've no expectations of people.
Most sports fans I know are very naive, they want to believe in the real life superman,if you want to get to the top you need to be on something..
Of course you can. But you can be even bigger and more ripped on the gear.. Some of 'em get really worked up about it too. I don't see what all the fuss is about. If everyone's at it, it isn't cheating. Who gives a monkeys what someone is or isn't taking..
