Hey Main Is that a quote from that guy in Boxing Talk? Anyway I totally agree. I also have to add that the expectations of Pac dominating had a lot to do with people thinking he lost. Pac was supposed to destroy JMM but he didn't even come close to doing that........so that should have given JMM the victory clearly.......I beg to differ.
hope so, but i highly doubt it so since serg didn't dominate he should've lost since bradley didn't dominate he should've lost (against devon) shall i go on
yup, bread the dopest only speaks truth, unbiased, no emotion, and actual **** none of this vivek wallace bull **** and i feel u, manny not dominating shouldn't be a reason he lost, folks who know wassup always said manny would have a hard time feel free to look through my posts, i never once said manny was going to knock out **** drinker, i knew he was going to struggle and i know **** drinker is just that one guy manny has problems with but 3 fights and **** drinker is 0-2-1 from his own mouth he said he needs a knockout to win, well he didn't fight like he was going for a knock out so why did he leave it in the judges hands, again
I was just kidding, man. I made that post (while laughing) in regards to your post "No one is trying to reply to me" comment so I decided to kill some time. I thought my "if you don't dominate, you deserve to lose" was the giveaway. But that's basically how a ***** or a Dinamitard would've responded to you. I totally agree with your original post. People really need to stop judging fights based on the expectations for the heavily-favored fighter. Just look at the Maidana-Morales fight. Maidana won that fight, but because Morales exceeded expectations, people felt he "won." To be fair, I did score it 8-4 for Marquez (I sound like a broken record). I'm gonna have to rewatch the fight again. I was just frustrated that Pac couldn't dominate. I didn't feel like he won. I'm hoping that when I rewatch, I can score it a draw.
I don't know what the compubox stats were, but I'll bet they were really inflated. Neither guy landed many punches, let alone meaningful punches. Lots of air, gloves and forearms. The worst damage was from a head butt and that was well controlled. Marquez did well on the 'clean' punch but they didn't look that effective for the most part. Both guys are good at minimizing the impact. The judges at ring side also get to hear the impact. This makes a big difference in perception if you are close enough to be able to hear the action. Most of the sounds you heard was glove on glove.
We all just have to agree on one thing. The pound-for-pound champion or just the heavily-favored fighter in a fight for that matter will pay the price if he does not live up to the expectations 100%.
