and that's what's going on right now in the end of the day, all that matters is that W, which he got people will always talk, good or bad, can't do nothin bout that
I'm not really a Pac fan all that much. I like these threads because *******s and *****s are such easy targets. Problem is they don't even realize it when they are owned. Takes some of the fun out of it. One *****s started a thread saying Pac was ducking if he didn't take the May 5 date. I asked if it meant Floyd was ducking if he didn't offer May 5 to Pac. I seemed to have killed the thread.
Yeah logic is a mother fugger. Guys are confused by my outlook bc they see my avatar and expect one line of thinking.
Ah, so now you're admitting you're a troll. Gotcha. Btw, there are more than 3 swing rounds so your logic falls flat on its face.
that's the unwritten rule in boxing. you must be deserving of being the champion by taking the fight into the champion
It's not. Just something people WISH was the case. If a guy wins a fight by a SINGLE point, then he's the champ. This 'taking it from' is hogwash. And by hogwash, I mean whipdatass' mom's body scrub. :rofl
Draw. Since clean punching was pretty much even throughout (JMM lands a bit less, but his punches are a bit more eye-catching than Pac's), it comes down to whether you credit Marquez for forcing Pac to fight his kind of fight, or favor Pac for attempting to initiate the action a bit more and throw more punches. Tough to say in this situation. I can see myself giving more of those swing rounds to Marquez when I watch the fight again, but that's all based on the fact that I tend to value the concept of ring generalship over aggression as a deciding factor in close fights. So, it's very possible that my scorecard of 114-114 could shift to a score of 115-113 JMM. Still, my scorecard will almost certainly remain close enough where I won't be able to argue too strenuously if someone has the same scorecard favoring Pac. Incidentally, I kind of enjoyed Pac-Marquez III. It wasn't nearly as good as the first two fights, but it was still a fast paced, scratch and claw affair that held my interest at the very least.
Excellent post as usual Drew! Always a pleasure to have your input, even if it all too sporadic. :smoke I must say, and maybe it was due to the fight before (TB vs. Casa), but the main event felt like it flew by! Felt like all of a sudden, was the 9th round!
Close fight. But I have no problem with Manny being declared the winner. Marquez only has himself to blame. He did the bare minimum and lost. To win, he should have taken some risks and pressed the action.
That's OK in a bar fight when you are defending yourself against an attacker. In the pro ring I expect BOTH guys coming willing to make the fight. Marquez got $5 mill to hang back and counter? Bull****. People think the promoters have the judges in their pockets. I think it is the casinos. They gain quite a bit by having exciting fights. You think they can't make the judges very cozy when they stay there?
I personally thought Pacquiao won 115-113. I was confident that he had won, so when the scorecards were announced, I wasn't shocked (although 116-112 is too wide, 115-113 is the most Pac won, and the most JMM could have won).
