PPV shows the popularity of the sport

The popularity of the sport determines fighters pay, and the exposure of the sport

The exposure of the sport, and fighters pay, determine the amount of people who enter the sport

The amount of people who enter the sport, determines its talent pool

The bigger the talent pool, the better fights and the better fighters

So yes, I care about ppv numbers.

I wish they would rid us of all this PPV BS.
there are few fights I would pay for, say that now but I get suckered in to almost every ppv. well, floyds and I cracked and even dum[ped $$$ for pac / chris. that was without a question one of the worst cards ever, never mind ppv, was a joke, one first Ballet HOFer against a thu night club fighter that...

once trip G is on ppv, i'll buy him ALL DAY

PPV hurts boxing so much. Thankfully due to streams and smart fans the PPV numbers are dropping. Fans are showing they are sick of it all. US and UK are the only maor boxing countries that have then (Aus, Philippines and NZ also seem to have them)

Great for promoters awful for fans and the sport.

PPV LIMITS the exposure of the sport. Japan, a countries with about 60% FEWER people has TV figures of 10,000,000 watching some fights on FREE TV...the most popular PPV fighter in the US gets less than 2,000,000...tell me who is getting exposure there. Mayweather has REALLY damaged to sport whilst a limited but exciting guy like Joichiro Tatsuyoshi helped inspire a generation

it's for promoters to negotiate fights. Fans shouldn't give a sh it about them though.

Hell yes. As long as guys like Money are raking in the PPV's then boxing will continue to thrive. Anyone who says or thinks otherwise DKSAB.

In the business side of things it does. I wish that it doesn't though but boxing now is a business. Problem is how they balance things, I really wish that there's only 1 governing body for this.. At least top dogs would fight top dogs unlike now.

This isnt about whether ppvs are good or bad for the sport. I wasnt saying anything of the sort.

I was saying that like it or not, ppv numbers reflect how popular the sport is here in america.... which makes them important to me.

Has nothing to do with it being good for the sport or its exposure.

Im saying ppv numbers are a good gauge at where boxing stands. Obviously in a perfect system we wouldnt have them but thats another topic.
