Does anyone think Valuev will knock out Haye?

My concern for Haye in this fight is his stamina. Being in the ring with such a big man will be tiring for Haye, once he's tired he'll be far more susceptible to getting KO'd. I really hope he can stick to a well devised game plan but I have my doubts. His speed and boxing ability should be key here, but I've a horrible geeling he'll go gung ho.

Other than the Carl Thompson fight, I dont really remember seeing Haye being 'gung ho'. I reckon he's more disciplined than people give him credit for.

Haye was completely gung ho until the Thompson loss. He has since totally changed his game and his stamina has drastically improved.

The thing is i think Haye increased stamina is more a case of he paces himself a little more now and Valuev has decent output for someone his size which could force Haye to fight at a faster pace than he may like

I must admit, I have a horrible feeling that Haye is going to get Hattoned.

Did you not think he was a little reckless against Barrett? He has also aluded to the fact he 'needs' to knock out Valuev. I'm still unsure about his stamina against world class opposition.

    Its possible.

He could have an egg chin at heavyweight. Unless its improved because of not having to cut weight its probable he does. It's not often a fighter would go from having a questionable chin at cruiser (hurt by Thompson, down to Mock and Mormeck heavily) to having a good chin at heavyweight.

However, he does have a huge speed advantage, and unless he fights ridiculous like he did against Monte Barrett then he'll do well to get himself knocked out early on. The biggest danger time will be in relatively uncharted territory, rounds 8-12 if he hasn't made an impact on the giant. He'll be tired, more prone to error, and his questionable resitance will likely be worse, and if he's knocked down heavily he might not be able to recover as well as he did against Momeck.

  8. I honestly think Haye will be better conditioned than we've ever seen him. He's had an age to adjust to his new size and he's had an age to train and prepare. He may be a bit ring rusty but he will be able to take his time somewhat and feel his opponent out this time. Although I don't think he ever really struggled to make weight at cruiser, the added bonus of not having to worry about it this time is also in his favour.

A fit, strong Haye isn't going to get KO'd by a lumbering giant like Valuev. He doesn't knock people out any more. He's slowing down and getting old.

This was my only worry for Haye.

He's under pressure to knock Valuev out in order prove his worth at heavyweight and may leave himself exposed if he tries too hard.

Haye was awful against Barrett. He put himself under pressure to perform that night and it showed in his performance. He looked very unnatural, he was forcing the pace too much, he was too wild, throwing wilds overhand rights all the time.

I hope he isn't in that mode.

sorry but can people not use the term 'world class' when referring to valuev as it is totally totally wrong. valuev is a champ through sheer size, and arguably some dodgy scoring. there is not one aspect of his boxing that could be considered world class.

I don't think it is that likely that Valuev can catch Haye early and spark him out.

If he leans all over him for 8-9 rounds to tire him out, he can absolutely spark him out late on. Haye really needs to 'box clever' in this fight.

Yep, thats it for me, i hope he dose'nt go for the KO as he'll be done after 6 rd's, he's going to have to move like a wasp & avoid any clinch at all costs as once Valuev gets a lean on him it'll be like squeezing juice, as we know Haye should **** it boxing wise but i don't see it working out for him & if it goes 12 expect uproar when the yeti's hand is raised:smoke
