A close to call, but I give the edge to Floyd.

Please tell me you didn't compare Gatti to a very green yet very talented fighter in Berto.

I've watched his last 3 fights and this guy impresses me. He puts together combinations incredibly well. I mean they are lightning fast. I'm just excited to see him fight next and see if he can mature into a complete fighter.

I knew someone would bring that up. No im not at all, except for the fact that Bertos technical game is trash and he has an extremely leaky defense. Mayweather would slowly brutalize him until it was stopped. Wouldn't even be a close fight; can you say B-L-O-W-O-U-T

I agree that right now, that would be the case. But the poster asked if they fought later when Berto has more fights under him and shows the natural progression.

He's too much of a brawler ... this guy looks up to Floyd as well ... if they fought he would be star struck.

He's a stand up fighter w/ zero head movement and blocking ability.

He got dropped by Cosme Rivera (which shouldn't have happened but he had his hands down)

Bad habits that he can't change will hurt him badly !!

He doesn't have alot of power either -- even though he fights like he does.

I think Berto needs a new team and a more polished tools in his tool box.

I think Berto and Cotto could beat Floyd . they are the only two that have the technique at that level .

Berto could match Mayweather on every level except experience. that is always a key factor.

I'm with you out of al the fights I seen of him which is 10, he impresses me more than any other fighter I seen for minute. More like the 2000 olympic class and up. But i would love to see him fight Cotto in 09. Maybe Taylor-Chavez again with out the stupid ending

Berto has the style to get tagged up and down, left and right, and KO'd by a guy like Floyd. Lack of footwork and defense will do that when faced with an elite, or any top notch fighter who's style doesn't play directly into his hands.

    :lol::lol:

Berto? I have yet to see him really develop a style. He isn't as strong or as big as DLH, either, so forget about him imposing either asset.

:patsch He has more power, Floyd has a HUGE edge in every other category. I have a feeling Berto will be exposed soon, depending on who he fights. Very flawed fighter.

one thing i like about berto is that he's able to realize his mistakes. when he fought cosme rivera he was just tryna go for the KO all night and not giving cosme any respect at all which is why he got caught with that uppercut, but when he fought david estrada he boxed him with his jab and went for the kill in the 11th round i believe

Berto on offense is a thing of beauty.

    Berto on defense? What defense?

Floyd would counter him into oblivion...He'd be KTFO quicker than his brother was on Elite XC...and I'm a big Berto fan.
