A billionaire in Zimbabwe has less real wealth than a poor person in America.

46-0 vs bums is less impressive than 40-5 vs talented fighters.

my intention isnt to degrade greb,it is just to put into perspective of the 300 fights or whatever he had,the vast majority of them where against over matched no hopers, but i concur he did fight and beat great fighters

If they were in high school together, Jones Jr. would rip Calzaghe a wedgie so loose he'd wring it over his head and then shove him into a locker. Different levels, fellas.

I do disagree tho. Roy was a very talented fighter no doubt, but so was Calzaghe. Joey C had great output, throwing 100 punches a round, every round. He also had very good speed (obviously not as quick as Roy), and he had insane recovery powers. I dont think Roy blows him away early, nor do i believe Roy shuts him out on the cards. Calzaghe was good enough to make it competitive throughout, nicking rounds with his output, and was smart enough not to get draw into Roy's fight.

I honestly believe he could have beaten him at 168. But it'll be close either way

You're entitled to that, although I personally believe Joe gets quite overrated. Calzaghe was fast, Jones was faster. Calzaghe in his prime had power, Jones had more. Calzaghe was a fleet-footed swarmer, Jones was a fleet-footed counter-puncher with the power to gain anyone's respect. I think he'd put a countering clinic on Joe, stopping his advances in their tracks, although Joe would nick a round here and there on sheer out-put while Jones was taking a breather/resorting to different tactics like fighting off the ropes.

I wonder where this rumour originated about Calzaghe beating Byrd in the amateurs? A lot of people treat it as fact.

I'll have to say the fight vs Froch was his most humiliating loss... Wasnt even a very competitive fight.... AA lost enough to go back down to a weaker division lol

he has only fought handful of great fighters. Eubank was finished by time Calzaghe fought him(2 losses to Collins) which really only leaves Hopkins(some people debate whether he even won) and Kessler.

Kessler stands out as the best for me. Young prime undefeated super middleweight and he unified the division(even if some gay ass belt wasnt on the line).

Great fighter but should have left ****** sooner like Hatton and Khan did.

Can't honestly rate him above guys who have been in the pound for pound rankings for years and years whilst Calzaghe only really hit them after Kessler and Lacy fights.

LOL, when the top fighter in history are mentioned by the experts, Joe Calzaghe's name is never there, and rightly so.
