Does Cotto improve if he goes to someone like Roach?

I would luv Cotto to get a new trainer, if he is gonna stay with his current camp then he best hang it up for good.

I think He needs a trainer who he will respect and not buck down to him when he doesnt wanna listen...I think that he is jus abit too head strong tho

I think Steward would be a good choice ... he would get Cotto to use his jab more which he really forgets to do at times.
He would also tighten his defense which for someone that does not have a granite chin (not saying he is chinny either) is pretty important.
And maybe to hold sometimes when he is in trouble.

Richardson would also be a great choice though, even if it was just to formulate a gameplan for once.

He won't do it though - he likes being in charge. For my money, he'd be best served either going back with Evangelista or moving to a guy that will develop his best assets like Steward. He'd help his utilise that jab fully and work on the right hand.

Richardson would be another good choice - he rounds out fighters with the tools they need to win.

Honestly, as a Cotto fan, the first thing that needs to change in Cotto's team is Miguel Cotto. Yes he needs a good trainer, but he also needs to LISTEN to the trainers. The problem is Cotto like being "the boss". The only reason he keeps his team is because nobody says anything but "Si Junito".

I think he needs to go to another trainer anyway, he didn't seem to have any plan A, let alone plan B, for the last fight.

Question is ...wat improvement does Cotto need and who can teach him ..some say defense ...i think his defense aint that bad ...its the mental side of his defence. He thinks he can take more shots than he actually can ...and gets it wrong ...against Margo ...he was the aggressor and boxed well ..he just took too many replies to his aggression ..against Pac he tried to walk thro what he thought wud be lighter punches ..they werent ...Roach teaches Counter Punching ...Nasim Richardson teaches fearless aggression ....Manuel Steward taught Jab first ask chin questions after ..Cott's jab is a thing of beauty ...ask Manny early

its too late to change anything in cotto but what he needs is a trainer who can make him use the tools he has to the best of its abilities, he needs a trainer who can give him the best gameplans, plan b's and mental support.

A coach like Roach could help any fighter who already has given talent, look how raw Manny Pacquiao was before Freddie came in. How much more on Cotto who already performs special in the ring.

tommy brooks would be a great match for cotto imo.

  15. Cotto won't beat Foreman. Foreman is too fast, too big, and will jab him to death from the outside. I see Cotto losing once again. He simply isn't the same fighter and has had a lot taken out of him in his last few fights. He is ripe for the picking and won't be fighting much longer.
