I certainly do think so.. Cotto have lots of potential to be greater.. Its actually impressive how far he's gone when he calls for most of the shot during training..

Props to him, though he won;t last anymore if he keeps this up..

I actually think Steward would be good for Cotto. Too bad stubborn ass Cotto won't replace his shitty trainer.

Freddy Escobar would just give Cotto some PEDs and make him into the new Wilfredo Gomez

When people think about change, they think about a change in style. I think a good trainer will add a change in strategy. Cotto has the right tools. As mentioned, he is faced with being his own worst enemy with his ego. 24/7 clearly showed Paq listening to Roach and forming a game plan. While Cotto was satisfied he was in great shape and that was it! A game plan can include clinching when hurt, mixing up movement with aggression, without necessarily changing any part of Cotto's arsenal. For example, Jermaine Taylor would have been Super Middleweight Champion if his corner had told him to dance the final round and not mix it up with Froche. Or, if they told him so, that he listened to that advice.
So to answer the question, one of the key things about the Roach/Pacquio relationship is that Pac executes the Roach plan. That is the key. Roach might not work with another fighter if the figher refuses to listen and execute. Maybe this fuels the answer - maybe, maybe not.

Actually I think Roach would be a great move for Cotto.

I think Roach would change Cotto back to his natural Southpaw
stance and work on improving his right hand, like he did with Manny.

Also, I sometimes wonder if Cottos robotic style is enhanced more
because he isnt using his natural stance.

Cotto can definately make adjustments and Roach would be the
    best person to do that.

IMO opinion Roach gets the very best possible level out of every fighter both mentally and physically.

So yes Roach would be great for Cotto, as well as for any other boxer.

........And i am a (****) Roach hater so thats strong coming from me.

It depends on Cotto and his ability to adapt to whatever teachings any trainer will bring him.

What I would like to see next time around is better sparring partners than he had for his last bout against Pacquiao. Guys that will push his game better and match the styles of his opponent better. The sparring partners that he had for his fight against Pac where not good enough for a fight of that magnitude.

It sure as hell wouldn't hurt. The advice he got in his last fight was pathetic.

A LOT OF COTTO HATERS HERE AIN'T?

when cotto has 0 lost, people here liked him. people were saying he's a badass, he will kick anybody's ass.....but after he had lost 2x, just 2x. those admirers suddenly switched position. same thing happened to hatton, people like him then in just one night he became "STUPID" fighter......

I like the idea of any of these trainers mentioned because I think all of them would be a great asset, especially considering what he has now. The bigger question is if he still has the desire and mental toughness to box at a high level after the Margarito and Pacquiao fights. He has taken two awful beatings and I don't see him coming back from it. I hoped maybe he could after the whole Margarito controversy but he lacked fire in the two fights since. I don't think he has IT anymore, which is sad cause he was always a favorite of mine
