Does Dawson present a more difficult challenge, to Calzaghe, then Kessler did?

That's it, I think I'm going to stop posting on the General Forum from now on. It's just a complete waste of time, awash with very little actual boxing debate.

Good riddance, if you think Kessler is harder for Calzaghe than Dawson. The poll clearly proves you wrong, and it's in no way off-base.

Kessler is a straight up and down European boxer, little headmovement and a good 1-2.

Dawson meanwhile is slick, more skilled than Kessler, bigger, stronger, and more proven. How you can possibly think Kessler is more of a challenge is beyond me.

Dawson is not a bigger challenge.

Though Dawson plus current Calzaghe's age is.

    :patsch

Dawson should prove himself first he lost already vs Johnson and an second win vs Tarver means nothing Tarver is done
Hopkins would beat Dawson too. At the moment it's Dawson who's overrated.

6'3 175lb Southpaw with a 77 inch reach? Uhh duh! Anyone that says Kessler is a bigger problem for slappy Joe is a moron.

I don't know. Chad has spots where he gets off his game so would this happen because Calzaghe would out more pressure on him than he's every had? I don't if Chad hits harder than Kessler. What about the hand speed? The night Kessler fought Calzaghe he would have beaten anyone at 168 or 175 except Calzaghe. Hell Kessler/Dawson is a toss-up so I don't think Chad would be any tougher.

  10. You're gonna cause a couple dozen guys to have an accident with their Calzaghe blowup dolls with that kind of talk.:nono

You need to dumb it down a bit. B-Hop is considered "prime" and RJJ is merely "non-peak". Johnson must be "second rate" because Joe won't fight him.

That's silly: In that case Joe needs to rematch Robin Reid because "he lost to him", but then again lets not give Joe an ideas aye. ;)

Prove himself? He would be one of, if not, Joe's most "live" oponent ever.

Chin is debatable, at this stage of Joe's career. VERY debatable. I think they are pretty much even inthis regard.

    Workrate definitely in Calzaghe favour.

    Reach and power in Dawsons.

Handspeed i would give a slight edge to Dawson.

Definitely has more advantages then Kessler did.

Yes. Dawson is bigger then Kessler, he hits harder then Kessler, he is faster then Kessler, he throws faster and more creative combos then Kessler, he is less predictable then Kessler, he has better footwork then Kessler, and he is slicker then Kessler. Not to mention he is a southpaw.

You hit the nail on the head. Kessler is good but nothing special, Dawson looks to be special. Yes he struggled against Johnson (A man Calzaghe ducked), but dominated Tarver and beat the undefeated Adamek. He's done all of this in twenty someting fights. What's Calzaghe done in 45 fights? Beat an RJJ imposter, barely beat a 44yr old hopkins and beat Kessler.
