    Yeah, you're right.

    I prefer not to!

I love ESB. I mean, I play poker and I use the e-mail but that is basically all I use the internet for. If it wasn't for this place I probably wouldn't be on all that much. But the one thing that has been ruined as regards boxing is the hyping of prospects. I used to enjoy following prospects, but since I joined ESB, I just get irritated by them because there is always some nut job trying to say some 12-0 fighter is more talented than Robinson/Mayweather, whomeverthe****ever. I think it's giving me a stomach ulcer!

Keep the royalty hyping going, every fight, make Gamboa into a post-boxing character on ESB, it'll increase his profile amongst fans and we have a lot of fun with it.

This time, I am merely contributing, everyone caught on.

    Gamboa is unbeatable.

    Exactly my point.

Yet you have bozos like Sweet Pea denying it, on account of there being boxing footage available.

I was obviously taking the **** with this thread, but I'm now glad that some actually serious and informative debate (on the past/present issue) came of it.

Khan has beaten an ex world champion and won a title eliminator against a guy who's only previous loss came against a current world champion.

On a pure career to this point perspective, Khan is further advanced in his career than Gamboa.

Take their most recent (and most impressive victories)

Jimenez has lost to guys who have multiple losses on their career and will never even get near to touching a title eliminator from this point on.

Limond has already fought title eliminators and only ever lost to Alex Arthur previously, Alex Arthur is now a world champ.

Limond to this point has a more impressive Career than Jimenez

"Oh but Limond is a feather fisted puncher" - so was Jimenez before his most recent streak against bums, excluding Anchodo - who got knocked out in his only other loss too.

Limond vs Jimenez is no foregone conclusion on who would win that fight, people just like to think Khan is useless and thus discredit all of his opponents, despite the career they've had.

My problem is that Jiminez doesn't always "get up" for fights. He doesn't take boxing seriously. He was drinking and smoking a couple weeks before one of his losses, and it showed. He has B level abilities with a C- level mentality (or will) to be a boxer. He was obviously up for the Gamboa fight though; he was in excellent shape and displayed that iron chin of his. But regardless only time will tell with these two guys. I would LOVE a Gamboa/Khan superfight in a couple years :happy

I got "******ed" and "intellectual bull**** with no real substance" from the usual 2 zillions+ posts nostalgics before one of them finally raised a point (though did not feel compelled to provide the appropriate data).

On the other hand, I was asked to provide scientific evidence for arguments I have not made, my own arguments being distorted beyond recognition. Interestingly, my detractor applies much lower standards when it comes to validate his own statements, such as: "such 1950 boxer would murder such 2004 boxer" - double standards.

Those are the ESB superstars and then you have their lackeys who approve anything they say, though have no ****ing idea what everyone's talking about.

Shunning is rampant on discussion boards. If you go against the grain, they'll shoot you down. :yep

Gamboa is new to people, if he gets knocked down again in another fight, he'll lose another chunk of fans.

If he keeps performing, he'll gain a chunk of fans.

He's an impressive talent and someone who could cause quite a stir at top levels but he hasn't really come up against adversity yet in his career.

Khan has, he was badly shaken and completely on ***** street. He managed to get back up and not only win, but dominant and force the other fighter to quit.

Gamboa is in the "talented prospect" box for me, he still hasn't proven himself on a world level.

Khan, you have to say, has.

He beat St Clair, an ex champ - then turned around and beat Limond in a title eliminator.

Rating Jimenez against Limond is hard to do, you feel Jimenez should win, but he's lost to worser fighters than Limond in my view.

Meh, they get seen for what they are by people, they just don't realise it.

I provide evidence for my statements and point out other examples to boost my argument, such as how many people were semi professional boxers in the 1980s compared to today.

All we get in return? "OH ITS SO EASY, JUST WATCH THE FOOTAGE"

Stubbornly braindead people always amuse me.
