Does GGG have the weakest "RUN" of 160 champs in recent memory?

There is a difference between being the Champion and a Champion, Hopkins was always a Champ at MW from the jump 3/5 years GGG didn't hold a real title but basically what amounts to little league trophy.

B.Hop won a REAL title not some bullsh!t intriem belt, where there is an actual Champ holding the real title. You say GGGs been a Champ for 5 years well 3/5 he didn't hold a real title, just some bullsh!t belt to collect a fee. To make it worse he didn't even win a title I'm the ring, at least Hop had to face the next highest rated IBF contender for his vacant title.

There is no comparison between the two, also Hops greatness comes more from moving up not MW.

How do you argue winning a intriem title not even the real title is the same as winning the legit IBF Title?

Nobody considers an intriem Titlist a real Champion, and over 60% of the MW defense **** people say about GGG is of a fake title.

All defenses starting with Ouma were of the "regular' WBA World MW title, not an interim title.

Both Martinez and Pavlik have better wins.

Who is counting the Interim title as a real title? He Won the FULL WBA title in 2010 dummy.

REAL title Hopkins won the REAL title what does that mean? Hopkins fought for a vacant title against Mercado and was dropped in rounds 5 and 7 and fought to a draw in his first attempt. He then faced Mercado for the same VACANT title and won. What makes that title so much more REAL than anyone else winning one of four major titles?

Marvin Hagler is retired. You don't think he has a better resume than the Triple Duck?

Like I've said previously, everyone's circumstances are different and we don't know what the future holds. To be honest, I've not seen many people make comparisons with Bernard. But if you want to do one, I'll gladly oblige you, even though it's off topic. I don't think anyone will mind.

I very much doubt that GG will be fighting elite guys when he's 50. I doubt that he'll even be fighting anyone at that age. Bernard is unique in that respect. His dedication and longevity is absolutely incredible. I've got an enormous amount of respect for him. However, I've started to really question Bernard's achievements as of late, and although I do respect him greatly, his career throws up lots of questions for me, and I don't view him as the legend that you and others do.

I don't think he was a natural MW like GG is. I think he had to make incredible sacrifices to fight at MW for 12 years. And I have to question why he did that, when the division was weak and he could have fought much better competition at SMW/LHW while he was prime.

His biggest wins at MW were against Tito and Oscar. But GG hasn't got the opportunity to fight huge names like those. Canelo and Cotto are as close as he'll ever get to having an Oscar/Tito like fight.

Regarding Bernard's LHW run, again, why didn't he have one earlier? He ducked a rematch with Roy in 2002, when he'd been offered $6m for a 168 CW. And I think if he'd have beaten Taylor at MW, he'd have remained at the weight for longer. I think when he went up to LHW in 2006, it was because there was literally nothing else for him to do at MW, and because he was in a position where he had nothing to lose and everything to gain.

So if you want to do a comparison between GG and Bernard, there's a number of very interesting questions to consider:

Would you have given credit to GG, if he'd beaten Tito and Oscar, who'd moved up from their best weights?

Will you give credit to GG if he beats either Cotto or Canelo at MW?

Would Bernard have fought at LHW, if he'd have been GG's size? Bearing in mind that he's 6'1, with a 75" reach, whereas GG is 5'10, with a 70" reach.

Why didn't Bernard fight the best competition out there until he was in his 40's?

I don't think we'll see GG at LHW. But again, he's not a big guy. Maybe we could still see a Ward fight at a CW in the future? I don't know. But I don't think he ducked Ward, as I don't think that the fight was really viable for either guy. But I'm absolutely convinced that GG will move up to SMW after he's accomplished everything he wants to at MW. But if/when he does, it'll be a shame that the likes of Ward, Kessler and Froch won't be there. Which is why you again have to be fair and look at each fighters circumstances. Will GG have the opportunity to fight the calibre of opponents that Bernard did in the latter stages of his career? Again, we'll have to wait and see.

I'll look forward to your reply. But I think you're being too harsh on GG, while you've given Bernard more credit than he actually deserves.

    :good

    Lol.

    John David Jackson
    Glen Johnson
    Keith Holmes
    William Joppy
    Felix Trinidad

..are ALL better than anyone on Bumlovkin's resume. Hell, Trinidad is a legitimate ATG and Johnson won the LHW title.

You Bumlovstans really need to stop with all the nutsack holding...

So, how old was Hopkins for the first Jones fight? How old was Hopkins for the Trinidad fight?

comparing oscar/tito to cotto/canelo....basically i see cotto as being too smart to take the fight expecting a similar fate....the difference being that cotto is actually the attraction whereas nard was getting to face the attraction....cotto is oscar and tito....and ggg is bernard....i think its too late in cottos career for him to give way to a bigger man when he has a bigger fight in front of him...that and cotto already has had the title...cotto doesnt need ggg and ive always said hed never fight him.....if he beat canelo id give him some credit(more/less depending on how canelo looks this saturday)....i know one things for sure id give ggg a ton of credit had he sacked up and fought ward at 168....even in defeat id give him alot of credit....and although i favor ward and think the odds are definitley in wards favor i still think ggg would have a shot

why didnt bernard fight top comp till he was 40? i have no idea...youd have to ask him....bottom line though is he did it....and when you think about it...doing it later and faring pretty well is pretty impressive

i have just seen, here, alot of people trying to defend ggg by referencing bhops mw reign.....and like ive said its what nard did after that makes him a legend....and even though we have no crystal ball its hard to imagine ggg coming even close to that based off reasons you mentioned

    Tito ATG...not at MW!
Joppy..what makes that a great win?
    The rest = solid.

Hopkins has the edge but also needed 4 more years to get there. GGG's MW run is not finished.
