AJ was in with another no-mark last night.

Kell might be fighting Gavin next. Frankie must be laughing at that one!

Quigg keeps fighting nobodies, and is rumoured to be fighting Framptons s****s next (Kiko).

On a scale of 1-10, how badly does Eddie need to start making QUALITY fights happen? It's just exhibition matches out there now...

AJ's fighting Johnson next, which is a step up. He's not ready for the the top guys yet IMO.

Kell wanted to step up vs Khan, but has to look elsewhere. Brook is a step up for Gavin.

Quigg's in a **** division not much he can do about that. There's only Frampton, Rigo and LSC who are top level.

AJ is still developing so he's going to be matched carefully to improve over time. There was 2 upsets on last nights card but because they weren't top level fighters no one pays much attention. Some fans want 50-50 fights no matter what level the fighters are, others just want to see name fighters like Groves and Degale fight Douglin and Periban.

Al haymon needs to step up his fighters.

Only floyd nearly the twighlight of his career his finally fighting someone who can seriously challenge him and what the fans want to see.

    Khan
    Stevenson
    Garcia
    Thurman
    Quillin

Have all been fighting bums in their last few fights.

Yes and no, Joshuas progress has been reasonable, Quigg does need better opponents but there aren't many good contenders, Brook was very slow in getting going but I think he is doing okay now, Callum Smith is progressing very quickly and I think he is generally getting it spot on in my opinion. If you have a good young prospect, Joshua for example, 25 years old, not a long amateur career, he needs to learn, been pro 18 months or so, why do people think he is going to fight an eliminator or whatever already? Its pure stupidity, let him grow and learn and then he will achieve everything he possibly can

Joshua's fight was acceptable given that he'd been out for a while and is fighting Johnson next who is very durable and incredibly awkward.

As for Brook- who else is there for him to fight as a voluntary? He isn't going to be fighting Khan or even Thurman anytime soon so Gavin or even Bundu may be the best we can hope for May.

Hearn needs to trim his stable a bit- having the likes of Coyle, Gavin and Rose is all well and good but where are they going in the next year? I'd love to know what the typical Matchroom contract is duration wise.

I don't think smaller stables are the answer, personally larger stables would be the way I would go, more fighters to match then and hopefully more 50/50 fights

The problem with big stables is that they can just as likely keep the fighters apart for ages to 'build' the fight when they meet up which ca screw things up

other bad thing about matchroom is that any half decent domestic dust up which people are interested in seeing they will make it ppv anf screw the fans

is it only me that remembers when ppv was only for massive fights usually in america or when a top british fighter goes against the worlds best in a mega fight?

since eddies taken over domestic level fights are now ppv eg bellew vs cleverly, haye vs harrison, quigg vs frampton

wasn't bellew vs cleverly 1, which was a world title fight shown on boxnation for no extra cost?

Brook is A WORLD CHAMPION AT WELTERWEIGHT.

Let me lend some perspective on what kind of company he is keeping at that level...

    Mayweather
    Pac
    Bradley
    Khan
    Maidana
    Thurman
    Marquez
    Rios
    Guerrero

WHY THE F*CK should he fight Bundu or Gavin, and WE have to pay through the nose for it?

Besides, Brook would be going backwards fighting Gavin or Bundu. I'm sorry, but when the only other two title-holders in your weight class are Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pac there's no reason to be fighting Frankie Gavin or Leonard Bundu! you fight those guys when you are ranked 15th in the world, not top 3-5.

Bellew clev 1 was when Boxnation was free, in fairness haye Harrison was a world title fight, no excuse really for bellew clev apart from the undercard at an enormous stretch (then again what was the point in paying groves £350k to fight a ****e light middleweight?? Made excuses about the total purses but he didn't need to spend that much)

don't mind the May 30 card being PPV (partially because I'm hoping to be there) but having Campbell coyle as a PPV would be massively taking the ****, from memory brook v hatton rated brilliantly on sky sports and The hull fight would be much lower down the pecking order, likewise if say warrington and selby win straps, no way should any unification be a PPV despite the number of tickets he sells in leeds. Eddie needs to realise that some big fights need to be on sky to help build the fighter and the sport in general, so when they are in a proper PPV it will sell and people won't feel ripped off like for haye Harrison or bellend clev 2

In fairness I forgot about Rios which is a fun fight. I agree that the May 30th card should not be PPV as it stands.

    Agreed.

The irony of Kell Brook and Eddie is sickening. Slate Khan for potentially fighting Algieri as he lost every round against Pacquiao but say they're going after the Rios fight - who also lost every round against Pacquiao and is just a glorified punching bag.

Are you seriously expecting him to have a massive fight 2 months after his last one? and of that list Guerrero and Marquez are done, Khan is a fanny, mayweather and pac are almost certainly tied up until next year, thurman is injured and couldn't do may 30, maidana is fat right now and is in no shape to fight in the next few months which leaves bradley or rios, no poisn't fighting bradley in a voluntary and probably too short notice for rios, gavin for some reason is effectively the second highest rated fighter by the IBF and is in camp for a fight in early May so he'd be available for that, plus it's such an easy fight that Amir Khan would be proud of that move
