i think glen has every chance of beating froch, depending on which version of carl turns up. if the 'usual' froch turns up (ready to go to war and get into exchanges) then glen may very well outsmart him and outland him. if the 'new' froch turns up (ie the one against abraham) then his chances lower somewhat but he still has every chance of outboxing him. might be the 'sleeper hit' of all the super six matchups i reckon.
It's the same version of Froch that shows up every time. It's the man in front of him that changes. Obviously he is improving but it's not like there are two versions of him. It's mostly just the style match up
To answer the question, yes - Johnson has every chance of getting the win in this one. He's got to drag Froch into a war.... Froch can't brawl or slug to save his life, against Glen he'd come a distant second in a toe to toe fistfight. Carl has to stick to his boxing..... if he does that I think he can weather a few dodgy moments and take a relatively comfortable decision. Neither of these two punch hard enough to hurt the other, it's going the 12.
I would say so yes. The concerns I had over Johnson safely making 168lbs for this tournament havn't entirely disappeared. I believe if he can keep a high workrate up over 12, and unsettle Froch on the inside...then he has a good chance of pulling off the victory. I actually believe Froch will pick up a decision in this bout. But I wouldn't be completely surprised to see Johnson nick it.
Matter of a opinion Glen has a reasonable chance of getting a KO if he can slip Froch´s jabs and avoids his right straight and could make this a inside -fight. Froch´s probably going to use the AA -fight plan and tries to avoid these. Froch has a reasonable chance Ko´ing Glen with his right hand when Glen comes marching in - "counterball" -shot so to speak
Froch will have to box here, just as he did against Abraham. If Froch decides to go to war, I feel Johnson has a good chance. Anyways, Johnson always comes to fight and I would never count him out.
I just dont see Froch stopping Glen . let alone even hurting him , Johnson tough as hell , Hes a veteran . Hes not going anywhere . Froch is the one more prone to get knocked out . Hes been dropped and hurt before by opponents who are not big punchers at all . (Taylor ,Pascal , Dirrell) Froch can only outpoint Johnson .
Froch might have the best jab in the Super 6, but he is not a very effective inside fighter. His punches lack snap on the inside and just aren't as sharp. If Johnson can get inside of Froch's reach and get passed his jab, he has a very good shot. However, Froch has underrated mobility and as I previously said, an excellent jab. He just has to prevent Johnson from getting inside and then prevent him from working if he gets there.
