Quite funny that lots of people accepts newspaper decisions as "words from god almighty". As I read it here, lots of journalists and newspapers cannot be trusted.
I love this film,,one thing I've noticed after Johnson dropped Ketchel the 1st time and Stanley arose Johnson didn't seem all that interested in finishing him. I've no doubt Jack carried him and Stanley landed a big punch that caught Johnson unaware, Jack ,then highly pissed off killed him. As he's standing there he looked like he was waiting for the waitress to seat him for dinner.

Is that fact though or urban myth? The way Ketchel rests his head gently on the canvas after supposedly receiving the knockout blow looks very suspicious to me. Not too bad, had the worst Christmas imaginable but got to keep going.

I don't think you would go the the lengths of having your teeth knocked out for the sake of realism. Johnson had a big bet the fight wouldn't go past 15rds.
