I concur...there is absolutely NO way David Tua would beat Larry Holmes, Holmes would beat Tua easier than Lewis did...Byrd may mess a younger Holmes around a bit, Larry by his own admission didn't like the awkward types, but over the twelve or fifteen round distance he figures him out and lashes him with the jab and occasional right hand winning a fairly easy decision or late cuts stoppage.
Holmes is a top 3 HW and automatic Top 5! Only 1 of his losses was a "true" loss and that was after a 2 yr layoff fighting Mike Tyson. Holmes jab alone would beat and bust up 90% of the HW's that ever lived and he had a great chin.
Most experts and fans though Holmes beat Spinks twice. I think politics and breaking a record had something to do with those fights. The Klits been knocked out 5 times and Holmes only once against an all-time great in Tyson.
Right, how many ATG's went life and death with novices like Witherspoon and Williams? He lost twice to a light-heavyweight in Spinks, went 10, 12, even 15 rounds with green kids who had only maybe 10 or 12 pro fights... Sorry thats not an ATG...

Better yet, look at who he was fighting. When Holmes was a prime 40 or 45 fight veteran he was winning SDs and MDs over kids with less than 2 years of pro experience.....

Sure, he looked great against mediocre opponents... hell, Chavez Jr looks good against medocre opponents... I usually stay out of this discussion..but i was tired of watching everyone say how great Holmes was... people don't remember when Holmes was fighting how much disrespect he got cuz his opposition was bad... the only thing that gives Holmes top ATG billing is politics.
