Does Loma have better footwork than Mayweather did?

You used current physical prime Loma footage vs. post prime WW Floyd footage

Obvious attempt at swaying an argument.

 

Floyd had better footwork outside of the ring. Only Les Moonves had better.

 

Horrible and biased video. Past prime PBF while using prime Loma footage show footage of PBF at 130 and 135 if the video is to be taken seriously.

 

Loma of course. Floyd is not a fleet footed fighter. He stays in the pocket and pivots. He also uses the ropes to pull back from punches. Floyd has better head movement and upper body movement. Loma uses his legs more. Different styles. Plus Loma throws way more punches. Wish mayweather would change his nickname again to Compubox. He always lands a high percentage, but doens t throw alot.

 

You sound like a novice. How many fights of PBF at 130 did you watch? My guess would be zero and that you only watched PBF at 147 or higher much later in his career. Because if you had there's no way in hell that you would say that PBF was not a fleet footed fighter. People, always expose themselves with posts like yours.

 

They both have good footwork for what they want to do in the ring. Loma's footwork is more intricate, there's more to it because he stays in front of his opponent and attacks much more. Floyd's footwork is mostly speed, moving in and out of range with long steps. Both are effective.

 

Floyd doesn't really use footwork for close range. He just uses upper body movement for the most part. Loma moves a lot more.

Doesn't mean one style is better than the other.

 

No I wouldn’t say his footwork is better. I do think they are both in the mix when evaluating greats who had great foot placement and movement. I do think Loma makes use of his to differently to contrast/compare. Loma uses his footwork to create angles of attack that is among the best ever. Where Floyd used his to maximize space and dictate pace as good as anyone ever. Both masters of footwork, just different skills and strategies

 

Being able to fight at all ranges is very definition of great footwork. PBF could fight well on the inside he had great balance there could counter and get off shots because of great leverage and still defend while on the inside in his prime. That was due to great footwork to be able to be in the right position, while there.

 

Why is everyone ignoring Floyd's career up until he fought ODLH. that was when he was 31 years old and slightly past prime.
