Does Maloney dodge 2 fights for Sykes post fight?

Maloney, most likely, being the low life promoter looking to protect his assest rather than test his worth seemed to duck 2 fights after the Sykes win over Johansson.

First, after being asked about a rematch, he said no. I don't understand why good fights don't get rematches. If there was a serious competative architecture to boxing than okay but there isn't. If Arsenal and Man Utd have a great game, they are in a league and have a new job the following week. In boxing, it really should be about making the best fights at that point in time. There isn't much other guidance unless you are the champ but even then...

Secondly, he said Sykes won't get a shot at Buckland. Do you believe its due to the rules or Maloney not interesting in making a fight that saw Sykes stopped in 1!

Just to add a bit of balance, Sykes did sound like he wanted the Buckland fight. The euro title is the obvious next step for Sykes and without the Buckland loss no one would have a problem with it.

Does anyone know on the euro rules regarding making the limit before a fight.

Sykes could have stayed quiet, but he made sure that he said he wants Buckland at some point regardless.

i understand where maloney is coming from regarding buckland never weighing in at the super feather limit in his career, buckland should try get a celtic title shot or an eliminator where he has to weigh in at the super feather limit so he can prove that is where his future lies. if he wins that then maloney would have no real excuse not to fight him.
