Boxers don't get credit for victories we think they earned, only for the ones that they have. If we're judging like that, Barerra should have been credited with a knockdown of Marquez and should've edged Marquez in their fight. Morales in the record books forever have a victory over Pacquiao. Marquez doesn't. And when Morales loss to Diaz and Maidana, he was PAST PRIME. When Marquez lost to John, he was PRIME.

It's kind of unfair to compare because of how Marquez was promoted early in his career. He didn't draw alot of fans with his technical style. I remember how Bob Arum was his promoter and didn't even put up a decent bid on Marquez's title defense (I think against Chris John). Bob said something like how Marquez doesn't fight like a Mexican so he's a hard sell. All too often people confuse oppurtunity with ability, I think Marquez would've been as dominate as Barrerra & Morales (there's a reason neither wanted to fight Juan when they were all at 126 and it wasn't because Juan didn't want to fight them). Where Marco & Erik fell off early, Juan's stayed consistent.

Let's not forget, Marquez ducked Hamed. Yes I said it. He did.

He's only a stylistic match up for Manny but he does not rank nowhere near either of them .Lets keep things in perspective now !

Even though as recently as Saturday Steward still admits he told Hamed to stay the hell away from him, and the WBA protected Hamed as the money maker by never enforcing Marquez's mandatory status for over two years before Barrera got to him.
