If you try and walk Pac down, you get battered, its that simple.
When Cotto actually tried to box off the jab, and chose his moments when to attack, Pac didnt know what to do.
Pacs last opponents have all banked on size and strength being the keys, its not, its the absolute worst way to fight Pac.

Mayweather beats Pac very very easily.:deal

Marquez in reality beat him twice using clever boxing and good footwork. Mayweather will school Pac.

Don't need the power, just need a great jab and composure forget the crowd and making the fight exciting for the avg. viewer. Mayweather is very capable of doing this without any power.

Power is one of the most overrated attributes in boxing by fans. I box so I'm saying this from a boxers perspective. First let me pose a comparison real quick.

If we were fishing say oh "humans",lol. Would a 100lbs+ hook be required to carry a human where the hook was caught under their lip and I'm reeling them in?? The answer is no, I could use a 5lbs hook to have someone follow me.

The same holds true in boxing to an extent. Most KNOCKOUT punches are either things that someone didn't account for or comes in flurries. That said it's not required to have BRICKS to knock someone out or even keep them honest.

Where Pac succeeds at is he throws punches from angles that people can't often account for. Look at the Cotto knockdowns as evidence. That said Floyd doesn't need to load up on his punches to be effective against Pacquiao.

In fact and I'm amazed this wasn't mentioned. Floyd LOVES to fight backing up (and one of the few who can do it effectively) so when he pivots or turns, Manny will have to account for his location and manny has proven easy to hit. To answer the thread Mayweather's power or lack there'of isn't the issue because he'll have no problem letting pac come forward and timing him with lead rights and hooks..

So what you're saying that is Floyd has never punched anyone solid right? All he does is hit and run right?

Name ONE instance where Floyd has quit? What a waste of post. Can someone post some serious analysis for a change as opposed to this childish bullschit? You sound like a 4th grader.

Most people would say Mayweather don't have the power to KO Manny, but then again no one thought he would KO Hatton either. I would say we would have to wait until the fight to see, but even if he does not have it to KO Manny. He does have the skill to beat him on points.

To answer the question, no. He does however have the power to back-up and it will be a game of cat and mouse. One of them will have to give. When you are trying to catch a goat in a fenced yard, eventually you will catch up to that goat. Floyd will be foreced to fight on this one.

Jab to the body not effective on a southpaw.

People keep forgetting that Manny is a southpaw. Floyd can't get away with a lot of the things he does with that fact alone. He can't use two of his best weapons which are lead left hooks and jabs to the body. Manny is also very unorthodox and difficult to fight.

Castillo (who fought Mayweather twice) said Pacquaio has better footspeed and power than Mayweather.

Manny will be a very difficult fight for Floyd. He's just as fast with hands and feet, he's got an iron jaw and will. I don't see how Floyd can win by throwing 1-2 potshots at a time and running away, and that's probably what he'll try to do since he can't outfight or outbrawl Manny.

As long as Manny has the right gameplan and Freddie Roach prepares him properly, I can see Manny winning the fight clearly.
