I got money on mayweather stopping cotto in the 11th. I think his corner or the ref will stop it while cotto is still on his feet...

To stop Cotto you have to have power and be aggressive, which is something Floyd doesn't have and will not do. He will be too cautious.

Floyd could catch him with a shot he doesn't see or catch him while he is throwing his own shot which could really hurt. Accuracy plays a role in it as well and if Floyd sits down on a shot and catches Cotto on the button then he can in fact stop him.

At the lower weights he was a good puncher and got knock outs. To his credit he adjusted his style and can still deal with his opponents.

I think this is why he has an issue with pac. Who was still knocking guys out at higher weights.

Doubt it, Floyd hits moving lateral. He very rarely hits standing still, which is where all your power comes from. Floyd does not sit on his shot, it is more hit while he is moving. It is easy to be fast that way, but Floyd does not have natural handspeed like a Roy, Zab, Pac or people like that who can throw fast shots standing still and still keep their power. So his shots lack the power as he does not square up to hit. I do believe he will win the fight, but saying he has the power to stop him I doubt it. People who have stopped Cotto had some form of power advantage and they were overly aggressive, took Cotto out of his element.

Well he was sitting on his shots with Mosley and Ortiz and hurt Mosley several times.

But did not knock him out or down. Mosley does not move around, he is a straight forward fighter who throws nothing but hooks, easy to hit him. Ortiz is ortiz, another punch drunk fighter with zero skill. Cotto is another beast, throws jabs, attacks the body, aggressive. Floyd will move around to avoid getting hit in the body, he wont sit on his shots for him. Hit, move lateral, hit, move lateral.

It does not take "power" to stop an opponent....it takes timing and coordination; He looked sharper with Ortiz than he did with Mosley from a defensive view. He didn't even take punishment with Ortiz, where as he took punishment by 2 big punches from Mosley.

So if takes timing and coordination, then why does he only have a few KO's in the last few yrs then? I would like to know that. :tong

I couldn't tell ya...Lots of fighters who are said to have power, do not have any knockouts in the last few years.:deal Pacquiao has not had a KO in almost 3 years.:deal He is said to have "power." Yea your fault.

But if you were to ever box, you would learn that timing and coordination, mixed with perfectly placed punches CAN equal a KO.:deal

It all depends on cotto! If he were to do it, it will only be in floyd feels he doesn't need to respect cottos gameplan. Floyds too good at this during fights, if he looses respect for cottos power that I can see him giving it a good old go.
