I’m excited for the fight. Unfortunately we’ve seen up and comers who looked invincible and then a step up in competition showed they may have been overhyped. On the other hand, these are fights where a star can be born. If Morrell comes through and wins, his popularity will skyrocket in the boxing world at least.

That being said, how do you guys think he fares against Benavidez in their upcoming fight?

He's got a decent chance. He has boxing skills and demonstrated that in a number of fights. Kalajdzic deflated Morrell's hype a bit, but I wouldn't be surprised he pulls out a career best performance.

Knowing Benevidez, he'll lose a few early rounds before he starts breaking Morrell down and stop him late or win a 8-4 decision.

I think he only has a punchers chance. Most people sleep on Benavidez's boxing ability. In the Gavril rematch he spent most of that fight boxing and moving on the back foot but still beat the crap out of him. I think he can out box Morrell if he needs to but I expect it will be a combination of boxing then beating him down. Morells ceiling is unknown so it could be a surprisingly easy or hard fight for Benavidez.

They’re only making this fight because Morell looked like **** in his last bout.

Most weren't impressed with Benavidez' last outing either.

Yes, rewatch Benavidez vs Andrade. Andrade had plenty of success before he got stopped. I used to favor Benavidez to walk over Morrell and outwork him but Morrell actually looks naturally larger than him and he has power imo this might be a banana peel

Morrell has more than a good chance. He has an excellent amateur background and has very good power but mire than that, he seems to take really good care if himself in between fights were Benavidez seems to really blow up in weight. At some point, that **** will catch up with Benavidez.

I still have Benavidez as the favorite but Morrell is a dangerous opponent.

Benavidez looked super weak and slappy against the first opponent he couldn't weight bully last time.

Haven't been updated on Benavidez lately. He would want to be keeping things on track, at this stage getting caught slipping is a possibility.
