What about Sugar Jackson Bonsu? or Sugar Ray Seales (who had the moniker before Leonard)? or Anthony "Sugar Ray Clay Jones Jr." Small?

Of course not. To me, the nickname "Sugar" represents finesse-type fighters that had styles that were tough yet sweet. Shane is an agressive style fighter who can't adjust and can be outboxed rather easily. Ray Robinson and Ray Leonard epitomize the nickname "Sugar". Two All-Time Greats who could adjust their styles in multiple ways and they never got embarrassed in there primes like Shane has before. He's not a bad fighter but, Mosley is a disgrace to the nickname.

If Mosley is a disgrace to Boxing than so are the Sox either White or Red because they hardly win what they have 4-5 total in the last 100 years @ last comment? :rofl

Yes he does...He won titles in 3 divisions, he is going to hall of fame, and he was one of the best fighters of his generation. Just because he wasn't Robinson or Leonard doesnt mean he wasn't great. In fact, I think the Sugar nickname has made people underrated mosley. When you compare he to Robinson and Leonard he falls short, but there is nothing wrong with being the 3rd best Sugar ever. But when you compare him to other guys in the hall of fame that he is similar to, a guy like Emile Griffin then he fits right in. Mosley is a great fighter, not the best of his generation, but among the best of his era. Some of you people are too hard on the man.

Shane Mosley fights like SRR to me. Not as good of a fighter. But his body movements seem to mimic Ray Robinson. I think that might be the origin of the name. Actually, it's probably because Sugar Shane sounds good.

Shane just recently got like that after he took them steroids. He use to fight just like Robinson but looked better. He dosent look so great anymore but he wins. SHane is just like Robinson he never lost to an ATG only average fighters.

I will give this to you though Mosley is the only guy that would probaly Fight the same guy 2 times and loose 2 times and wonder why he lost....
