Did you just call a non-black fighter slick and athletic?

That is not a bad options but he's not going to be sparring with Ward. Ward is too big.

all roach teaches fighters is in and out movement with volume punching. well rounder boxer Peterson exposed Kahn. well rounded boxer Marquez exposed pacquiao. well rounded boxer Demarco exposed Linares.

But they fight in a similar style which would suit Donaire.

Donaire wants to be like a Pacquiao or an Amir Khan in style. He has the gifts to do it. Roach could train him and Ariza could help him move up in weight and keep his speed and power.

It doesn't change the fact that Donaire needs that in and out movement as defense. He's not someone who likes to fight like a Rigondeux. Rigondeux has excellent defense but is boring. Donaire likes to hit and get hit and exchange, he's similar to Pacquiao or Shane Mosley or even Andre Ward but he's not like Mayweather. Wards trainer could probably help him or Roach.

Of course he should, he has all the advantages. However, Pacquaio is still leagues ahead in resume.

But thats not the thread topic. Virgil is better than Mayweather as a cornerman, IMO. The best would be Emmanuel Steward who has the best of both experience and communication ability.

No actually Garcia did well in telling Nonito to back WVJr up. It was Nonito at times gets alil stubborn or hotheaded. He's the one that doesn't listen at times. I think Jr is better than given credit for he fought a great defensive fight. Plus Nonito hurt his hand early in the fight not bad for fighting one handed.

theres no point of taking unesessary punishment if ur gifted. look at roy jones, he was an exciting fighter but rarely got hit clean in his prime. btw Andre Ward is nothing like a Roach fighter. he has all the tools and hes a slick defensive wizard that rarely gets hit. hes actually very similar to floyd.

hes trained De La Hoya for a long time. De La Hoya claims he was the best trainer he ever had, yes even better than roach.

Steward is too static with what kind of style fighters he's good at training to match up well with Nonito(e)

Nonito(e) proudly considers himself a counter-puncher. Why go to guys that specialize in boxer-punchers or punchers like Steward and roach?

Garcia best fighters are Donaire who is top 5 pound for pound, than Rios and his brother Mikey. Donaire and especially Mikey are very good all round fighters. Robert Garcia is not a trainer for mindless brawlers. Even Rios press the action behind a jab

Nonito needs a trainer who can command his respect and attention, not a friendly trainer like garcia. I nominate Nacho...
