Yeah he does, but he doesnt always sit down on his punches. The power is there though when he does.

Ortiz easily has more one punch power than Maidana.

Maidana is definitely a hard puncher naturally, he gets a lot of his extra power from the fact he completely commits to shots and throws them with his feet planted firmly. He lacks refined technique so he loses accuracy and timing but he certainly lands his shots very hard. I think now he's stepped up a bit it's evident we all thought he hit harder than he actually does.

Ortiz seems to be very heavy handed but he's also accurate, fast and has decent timing. You can see his natural power in the fact he can hurt/knock people down at seemingly any range and at a variety of angles. It's not like he has to hit you with his money shot at perfect range; he seems to carry the power no matter what.

If he works on his timing and accuracy that little bit more, refines his technique, and keeps getting stronger at WW (which he's likely to) then he'll end up with one shot power for sure. At present he's doesnt quite have it. As I said, he has really heavy hands though.

I have to disagree. I think Maidana has more power because he KO's people and hurts them badly with terrible clubbing punches. If Maidana started to punch properly and setup his punches better he would KO a higher level of fighter, but he has the Brute strength advantage over Ortiz at 140 when they fought.

I think Walter Mattheyse also have 1 punch KO power.

Ortiz is the better puncher, but Maidana is the better natural puncher. So if Maidana ever really learnt how to box, he'd have incredible power, while Ortiz is a good puncher because of technique. That's why Ortiz only has power when he punches properly.

Good points. Maidana is heavier handed; Ortiz throws his punches harder (better form).

And yeah, Walter Dario Matthysse has a punch but is the crappiest boxer in his family (including him and Lucas' sister Soledad :yep)

he has the 1 punch power i'd say but he doesnt fight like it, he doesnt plant, always on his toes, not saying thats a bad thing but if he settled a bit and really got the power on his punches yea he has it, but for now the way he fights hes a hard hitter but not a 1 punch artist, he should work with emmanuel steward and we would really see the 1 punch power that hes got
