He didnt lose this fight and martienz was a super tough opponent. I wont take anything away from a fighter who was in a war like that. I will however give a lot mroe respect to martinez, who deserves it.

Are you saying Martinez is a B level fighter?

Williams is an enigma.....I'm starting to think the second quintana fight was the fluke, not the first one......

southpaws, and speed seem to give williams problems.....also his chin appears to be average to a little above average.....martinez with better stamina could have really hurt paul....

You really can't rate him above Martinez who is smaller. The question is where do you rank Martinez?

Based on what? It was a closefight, Martinez is hellavu fighter, whose only loss comes what eons ago to Prince of Plaster. If anything it enhances both the fighters.

Martinez won the fight. I am glad that Max Kellerman and Lampley had the balls to admit that on HBO live!

Pierre Benoist a very sick American criminal!

Williams head was knocked back in almost every round!

Ofcourse he is a b level fighter. Dont overhype martinez because your boy lost. 154 is full of b level fighters. No clear elites. I consider an A level fighter elite. Beating cintron dosent make you an A level fighter :yep

Id say hes on clotteys level. Which is B

People shouldn't judge Williams too harshly tonight. It wasn't a close fight because we overrated Williams, it was a close fight because we underrated Martinez.

I had Paul Williams on 9th place before the fight, based on this fight, which was a crowd pleaser though, he drops a few places. The decision was not a robbery , I scored it for martinez 7-5 but it was kinda close, the french judge is an idiot though. PW looked slow and uncontrolled at times to me. I'll put him around 12-15 now I think.

I definately underrated Martinez. I feel bad for him how the scoring turned out.

I think the lack of defense will cause Paul to retire early.

Williams looked slow, because he was in with an incredibly fast fighter. Addie has it right, Martinez was under rated. Williams stays at 5 P4P for me, and Martinez, moves in. Whomever compared Martinez to Clottley is an absolute moron.

Tell me who you consider an A level fighter, and what one should acomplish to become an A level fighter...

For me its to constantly compete at a high level and win the majority of your bouts against said high ranked opponents.

Please list those high level opponents martinez has beaten to prove his is A level

After seeing multiple websites' rankings of where they had Paul, they really overrated the **** out of him. The bottom line is he was ranked highly more on potential than anything else; so now that he's had the fight and struggled again with a quick southpaw, I don't get how that happening twice now leads to some of the sky high rankings over more proven fighters.

To put it in perspective, if Floyd and Pac retired right now, at least one major outlet would have Paul Williams as the best pound for pounder in the sport. I like Paul Williams- but it's too much, too soon.
