Does Pedro Diaz actually see something he thinks Cotto can exploit?

As great as Floyd is, he still makes mistakes and has his habits, just like any other fighter. NOBODY is perfect.

Definitely. . . But "seeing something", and getting your boxer to actually execute it, are two different things. . .

I think Diaz is probably the best trainer in the sport today. . THis guy eats, sleeps, breathes, and LIVES boxing. . He literally dedicates his entire life to the sport. . .

If anybody can train Cotto to beat Floyd, it's Diaz.

That's the thing that people don't get though, You aren't training anybody substantially after 39 fights. You just simply aren't. Miguel is what he is. He's not going to morph into this Power Ranger that some hope he will turn into on Saturday. I could have a bit more faith in this if the skills were better but when people like Clottey and even in his last fight, Margarito is touching you up, how can we not expect to see this

On a very consistent basis. What that pic indicates is that is what you are going to see on Saturday. I will never say that Floyd doesn't have weaknesses, but I honestly think he plays down to the level of his competition and if he really wants to, he can and will do basically anything he wants to do to you in the ring. Miguel will learn that while we all watch it.

The first thing Diaz told Cotto when they started working together was : " Im not here to teach you anything new , YOU ARE A VETERAN BOXER , Im here to put back and refine some things that were missing in your game ".... NOW THAT'S A TRAINER WHO KNOWS HIS STUFF , lets not forget that Diaz also holds a P.h.d in psychology . Peace .

Floyd said that the trainer doesn't fight in the ring but the fighter does.

It's no so hard to see how Floyd has lost his edge over the years. Floyd used to throw combinations - now he throws one at a time - either the right or the left hook, and no longer has a Jab. Floyd can not fight moving backwards. Floyd no longer trains for leg speed. Floyd over-commits when he throws his favorite punch - the lead right. Floyd has a habit of leaning to his right - and he can get clocked by a good left hook when he does it. Countless things.
