Does Randy Turpin deserve more credit than he gets?

    LOL! Now that just show what a great fighter he was, that he was still able to beat up the local thugs even after up to 10 years of being dead.

    I think Turpin gets the credit he deserves from boxing historians but he definitely deserves to be far better known universally.

    Turpin should be one of the iconic figures of British boxing to the point where his name should be known by everyone whether they're interested in boxing or not.

    Just like everyone knows Bobby Charlton was a footballer and Ian Botham was a cricketer everyone should know Turpin was a boxer.

    But I would bet that at least 95% of the population have never even heard of him.

    He didn't even have a statue until 35 years after he died.
