Does RJJ have a chance in hell against The Mighty Adamek?

you have to watch the fights Rumsfeld. that's why you are always ****ing up your picks. Watch the actual fights and the right picks will generally come naturally. You go too deep in your reasoning and your logic fails you cause the further you go, the more what really matters is being lost. Trust me watch any two RJJ fights from 1996-2002 and then compare to ANY two Adamek fights from his prime and you'll see why this one is easy to pick.

 

You should be exempt from all future commentary based on previous ATROCIOUS predictions.

:good no prob. nothing against adamek, but like someone brought up earlier looking at the vids gives you a who's who. sure, i remember merchant calling rjj the "reluctant warrior" when the 175lb division was weak at the time and rjj coasting from win to win, but there wasn't any comp for him at the time. the best of rjj imo was when he beat an undefeated james toney and young Bhops who were both undefeated at the time.

not only were those 2 highly skilled fighters, but they packed a wallop. now, this was roy at 160-168, and adamek's a 200lb fighter, so we can't really compare those 2, but i'd still pick the 195-200lbs version that outboxed john ruiz. adamek is as tough as they come, but in his loss to dawson it shows the blueprint that he can be outboxed, unfortunately he's not going to get outboxed by the current version of rjj

Jones is not invincible but we're not exactly pitting him against the likes of Archie Moore here.

And i'm not saying you don't watch the fights i know you have been a boxing fan for longer than i have but what im saying is watch the fights to make your picks. If you watch Jones and watch Adamek one after the other I think you'll see what i'm talking about

 

I do think Jirov would have been a very tough fight for Roy.

 

Jirov had some really bad management. Damn, he was such a good amateur, after turning pro, he was good for a while, but he stopped training. Going up to heavyweight was not an intelligent thing to do.
