Jones watched the Hopkins fight. He saw how Calzaghe has no power at LHW; saw how Calzaghe squared up in front of his opponent leaving him very vulnerable to counters; saw how Bernard's fight hand got through all night; and saw that Calzaghe was very wary of the power of Hopkins' right hand after getting knocked on his ass. Calzaghe is not nearly the fighter at LHW that he was at SMW. Jones saw this too and probably thinks he can possibly get a tko. I'll go out on a limb here and say that Calzaghe will go down at least once. You can call me on it after if I'm wrong.

Calzaghe has always been vulnerable to a strong right hand, straight after a pawing left jab.

But you won't outwork Joe, these days judges seem to like workrate as well as clean strong punching, and he is allowed to put rounds in the bank by doing it. His ring brain is very underrated, as is his ability to fight on the inside (though not toe to toe - subtle difference) and feel he will always be one step in front.

yup, RJ is gonna test that body of Calzaghe, (RJ is underrated as a body puncher) which will inevitably slow down calzaghes hand and bring down his workrate.
RJ knows Calzaghe cant hurt him, RJ has the faster hands. Calzaghe is a sucker for a str8 right hand, and RJ knows he can land that shot at will agains Calzaghe, I tell you one thing, if calzaghe fights RJ the same way he fought Bhop he is gonna lose. Calzaghe is gonna have to makie some adjustments and that alone will take calzaghe out his element b/c he is fighting a way that he isnt acustum 2 doing.

This fight is gonna look like the RJ vs Trinidad fight all over again.
Trinidad at 170 probably has more pop than Calzaghe at 175 so im sure RJ has the plan to beat Calzaghe

He probably does. But, in my experience, any half decent boxer thinks that they can beat anyone. Generally, you dont go in thinking that you'll lose. Jones was unbelievable a few years ago. But his mind is the same as it was then. Unfortunately his body isn't.

watch you are gonna b surprised man. Them body shots are gonna catchup with Calzaghe, Calzaghe didnt throw his usual 1000 punches a round against BHOP, and BHOP doesnt test the body as much as RJ does. Workrate, handspeed and all that will b nullified when youa re gettin hit in the face and body by hard fast punches that you never saw coming.
This fight is gonna b a lot different that a lot of people believe its gonna b

    1. RJJ shot's are nowhere near as disguised and sneaky as b-hops, joe will see a lot of them coming. hell he even took away bernards rights as the fight went on.

    2. RJJ can only fight in spurts now. fighting a minute a round and spending the other two walking away and lying on the ropes spells trouble against a spazzer puncher like calzaghe.

RJ shots dont need 2 b disguised as much b/c he has FASTER Hands than BHOP. im rpetty sure RJ whole career his punches werent disguised but yet he landed them whenever he wanted to b/c his hands are so fast.
Calzaghe might see them coming, but seeing them and gettin out of the way of them in time is 2 different things.

And as far as him fighting in spurts im sure RJ has a plan on wat he is gonna do to pull out a win, so im not worried one bit.
Calzaghe needs 2 b worried, if he loses this will destroy his legacy, RJ can train keep his head clean come in and have fun, no worries 4 him, so he is gonna b relaxed and ready 2 go.
I have no doubt in RJ pullin this off

what adjustment did he make in the bhop fight? RJ said be4 the fight that Calzaghe was gonna win b/c BHOP dont have the power to keep calzaghe off him. RJ & BHOP know that they arent in their primes n e more so they have to fight smart now, as oppose 2 jus using the physical talents to woop people.
Calzaghe swarms and throws a lot of punches, but if you wanna keep some1 off, counter with hard punches. ANd RJ has more power than BHOP im sure if Calzaghe is gettin hit wit str8 right hands and left hooks to the head and body he is not gonna come 4ward as much

    interesting.

when did RJJ last use this approach against a credible opponent?

What has happened to RJJ's power then? I'll tell you what, it went with his speed, he's lost the explosive element that gave him power

If RJJ had any serious power left he'd have finished Trinidad who was just asking to be knocked out, Hanshaw who got decapitated by Dirrell, and that other can he fought. The power is gone. Long gone.
