I noticed that almost every single one of your posts revolve around trying to make Floyd Mayweather sound better than he actually is by rubbishing other fighters. Just like Floyd does himself. Not good IMO, you should look at other fighters and be a fan of the sport, not a fan of Floyd.

    Just my observation.

Yes, he did! He's a quality trainer, no doubt, but he would not let Ricky rest during camp!

Rest is just as important as training hard! No excuses, but Hatton lost before he got in the ring!

One fighter was strong, ready to go, the other was just going through the motions, was burnt out!

Hatton is a multi-millionaire, married to a nice wife and has a nice family in a very nice home.

    His life is ruined??? :huh

As for his boxing career, he had a great one. And only lost to two ATGs in Pacquiao and Mayweather. But he didn't do himself any favours. Drinking dozens of pints of beer inbetween world title fights and rumoured he did it in training too. Is not the greatest way to set yourself up against elite opposition. Hatton could have been better than what he was. Especially if he had a different trainer and different people around him.

Its not like Pacquiao started kicking into Hatton when he was on the canvas unconscious. Hatton's loss to Floyd wouldn't have affected the outcome of his fight with Pac

    edit; Great thread title though

He didn't ruin Hatton's life. Ricky's mother doing what mother always do, looking for an excuse for why her little angel went bad. Fact is, Ricky has had a substance abuse problem for a long time. It's probably worse not that he's out of the spotlight and he's feeling sorry for himself. But he was always going to end up on this path eventually.

    Why would you say that?

Its easly to see how a fighter that gets knocked out in the manner that Hatton was knocked out by Mayweather would lose confidence.

Hatton even dismissed his long time trainer and hired Mayweather Sr.

.....and lets not forget that the hometown referee may have saved Hatton from being knocked out against Lazcano.

Obviously the accumulation and realization that he does'nt belong in the upper tier of existing great fighters may be a source of Hatton's depression.
.....but to say Pacquiao put him there is ridiculous.
Hatton has been on a downward out of control spiral for years.....party'ing, drinking, and God knows what else now that we've learned he's a Coke addict.

None of us clearly know the facts of this case.
Its quite possible that after his highpoint and victory over Kostya Tszyu, Hatton may have made the wrong choice and started to Party with the wrong crowd, which may have lead to his addiction as far back as then.
