How can quickness, in therms of "getting the punches on the spot devided by time" not be a factor in boxing ???
Joshua was concussed by a powerful punch but I doubt Ruiz can address a devastating right hand to a taller opponent how did Tyson vs Tillman for example. Wilder instead can load many shots like Tyson.
There are spots where this could be a 'maybe'. Definitely not... Definite. The thing with Tyson, is he kept his force with every shot. Ruiz might match him at points, but these are much more 'arm punches' .
Tyson was significantly faster than Ruiz, had way more sauce behind his punches, had better combos including body punches, was way more defensive sound and never stuck his chin out to dry the way Ruiz does after he finished a flurry aka he would have never. been caught on his azz in the opening rounds and so on and on..... Ruiz and AJ would have been two dream candidates for Tyson to showcase highlight KO reels for the news, one fat guy who likes to stay in the pocket and trade and the glass chinned Bodybuilder who stiff as a board with zero head movement wants to trade hooks while fighting small up close.........Ruiz might make it into the 4th due to his chin but his own bravery gets him killed and the Bodybuilder gets Michael Spinksed , absolute run over demolition job, there is no way on earth he would make it into the second round.
Actually, I think that was the single biggest reason why Tyson lost. His hand speed would have compensated for his ring rust; Mike's timing was off and his left hook couldn't find the mark and Holyfield timed him exceptionally well. Pre-Prison Tyson's handspeed would have landed counters that Evander would have seen coming and turned the tables in what would have still been a competitive bout. He’s fast but he’s not Ali Tyson fast. was a fan of Ruiz’s fight against AJ but after watching it again he def needs to move a little more. He goes against Wilder he will get sparked or Fury will clown him. Maybe he’s to heavy who knows. Fast hands for a large man though and one hell of a chin. Nice combos as well

I disagree. Holyfield was Tyson's kryptonite. Some say it was a case of styles make fights, I disagree. It had little to do with physical attributes. It was all psychological. Holyfield would've always beaten him imo. That being said I agree Tyson's hand speed was much greater than that of Ruiz's
