The Real Deal refused to fight Bigfoot Silva. That's why he's not on the December Strikeforce card and instead is doing K-1 while Bigfoot is fighting Overeem's less talented brother Valentijn. Fedor will never fight in the UFC because his promoter will never allow him to sign a UFC contract.

Name a single positive Strikeforce has gotten from having to deal with M-1 other than Fabricio Werdum getting a submission victory over Fedor Emelianenko and a Fedor-headlined CBS show (which considering how much M-1 and Fedor got paid, they probably lost money on)? When they had Fedor headline in San Jose against Werdum, he drew a smaller gate at that arena than a Strikeforce show headlined by Gina Carano, who was far cheaper. So in this country, he's down the list as far as draws go. M-1 didn't even want Fedor to fight Overeem even before he lost to Werdum. That's why they want the Werdum rematch so bad. He can get back his loss as the final fight on the contract and avoid facing Overeem. The best mixed martial artist in the world fought on their show on a big tv channel. Their fighter beat Fedor which almost single handidly legitimised their heavyweight division. Just look at the forums and see how Fedor joining SF has turned them from a small org to a major org. Obviously there are other factors but one of those is Fedor. No one knew SF not long ago. They barely got talked about even on ESB amongst the hardcore. They are now 1 of the 2 major orgs in MMA, in America and even in the world. No doubt M1 are a parasite but those business were messed up and it wasn't all to do with Fedor. Fedor is an asset if used correctly. So far SF are using him well.

Great. which has had one title fight since the beginning of 2008 (and with Fedor would stay at one because he doesn't care about the title and doesn't want to fight Overeem, which is again, why Overeem is doing K-1 in December) Fedor facing Sylvia and Arlovski and supposed to fight Barnett before that fight got cancelled legitimized the heavyweight fights in Affliction. Did that do them any good?They still went out of business because the amount of money Fedor and M-1 wants and calls for for him to fight far outstrips the money brought in from ticket sales and TV rights. They were a major org before. They had the TV deal before Fedor (part of the deal of buying out the bankrupt Elite XC). Frank Shamrock, Cung Le, and Gina Carano drew more fans to arenas than Fedor did for them and they were far cheaper for Strikeforce to pay and didn't call for all this co-promotion bullsh*t. If you don't believe that I can get the attendance and gate numbers to show you and post here. I knew who Strikeforce was before Fedor. Most knowledgeable MMA fans did. They were a credibly run MMA company that didn't risk bankruptcy taking huge risks that they may not pay off, which cannot be said about some of the fly-by-night outfits that came around and thought they were big.
They didn't go out of business because of Fedor. But if he's the greatest fighter in the world, why can't the companies he fights with able to stay in business anymore after him and his promotional company receive everything they want if he's such a big star? Is he not a draw? Is he not worth what him and his management think he is? People in this country may not like Wlad Klitschko for how he fights with him as arguably the greatest heavyweight in his sport, and like Fedor he is an Eastern European, but him and his promotional company can justify their salaries they get paid because they actually make money selling tickets and getting people to watch on TV in a place like Germany. That's not something M-1 can say, they make their living solely off other people's money while never risking any of their own in spite of being "a promoter". A lot of people out there hate the UFC. Fine, whatever. I like Strikeforce, I want them to stay in business, it's better for the sport. I doubt M-1 wants them to stay in business though once they're done with them, and that's my problem.
