IF he had an uppercut he'd be SICK!
I don't know how many times instead of clinching he should have uppercutted the guys head off his shoulders! How many times he asks scared, and like a fish out of water on the inside when if he'd throw the uppercut just once....Nobody would try to step to him. THEN, he could just blast away on the outside because there scared to death to step to the inside.

He did use to use uppercuts and whatever else but this is Wlad in a nutshell: He uses his best three punches, isn't forced to use anything else, and since it does the job, he's not changing it. His comfort zone is three punches and it's been a while since anyone can force him out of it.

When you give up your height, you increase your range if your balance is correct.

And when you bend to throw a uppercut to protect yourself. If you drop your hands, a guy with fast enough hands will counter you.

Lennox Lewis is an example of a big guy that threw smart uppercuts.

Wlad simply drops his hands down to his waist and then brings them up.

Imagine if he fought Tyson and did that.

If you count a left hook and a right hook as a straight punch then yeah.
He has a beautiful left hook that he uses pretty often.

He KO'ed Austin "wit fow hooks in a row" (as Roy Jones would say).

Wladimir can win fights one handed against some of his opposition. I think he could embarrass Peter the same way if he wanted to.

Doesnt throw uppercuts and doesnt know how to infight? They might not be what hes built on but these statements are pure ignorance. In fact, against Monte he did his fair shair of infighting. There is a difference between not doing something often, and not knowing how to do it.

    Just imo

Anyone can throw an uppercut no matter how tall.

He clearly chooses not to, thats not where or how he likes to fight and he fights to a game plan more diligently than anyone who has ever stepped in a ring. So you aren't going to be seeing many. You only have to look at how conservatively he uses his right hand, which is one of the best in the sport, to understand why you won't see uppercuts from him.

I'd be surprised if his uppercut is anything but textbook, its just not something he has included in his fight arsenal.

Vlad has used uppercuts, so has Vitali. The haters want Vlad to stick out his chin and get hit, that's why all the crap about him. Vlad almost always knocks out his opponents! Compare with Void.
