Most devastating punchers in Boxing history??? Please your starting to sound like a Pacterd.. I agree he is a dangerous punher but for the exception of Cordoba , his competition has been nothing but limited Journeyman, and Nobodys... COrdoba was bounced of the canvas several times by Dunne and kod. So its not like he was in with the most durable guy.. You remember Mickey Ward? He kod a few good fighters with body shots... Thats nothing new.

Dont get me wrong Rigoundeaux is gonna be a helluva fighter.. But your getting a little to excited on a guy whos only had 8 fights and faced only 1 world class fighter(who almost beathim).

I thik Rigo should hold on and have a few more fights against some contenders or stiff competition before fighting Donnaire. Id give him a chance but right know thats not a good idea... RIght now Nonito beats him.. Ask me in a year though and my opinion might change.

rigondeaux, if he trained under someone more appropriate who get him more confident and out of those amateur conventions.

Montiel and Vic are alot more highly regarded than Cordoba, and he gave him all he wanted it was a very close fight...

Montiel and Vic are possible future HOF and they got smoked by Nonito.

I will admit im sure Rigo learned from that fight and this will make him better.. But if his promoters or manager throw him in with Nonito before taking on some stiffer somp first.. Then they are taking a big gamble.. Besides buisness wise this fight would be much bigger in a year or 2.. They should take on some former world champs that are past it, not one whos in his prime and pfp one of the best.

Many will point out that a guy like vargas was rushed against Tito and that maybe he was ruined cause of that... This would be worst at least Vargas had beaten top fighters like Winky,Quartey,Campas etc etc..

The TM is putting to much into RIgos amatuer accomplishments. RIgo should try and grab a title from one of the less talented champs first.

GR has only 8 fights but he can't b fighting cab drivers, he is leagues above anyone with the same resume, ppl will ask for his head if he fights another Casey, he is 30 y/o and ready, bring it on, he is so good that promoters are contemplating a fight with ND, a guy that has been fighting professional for over 10 years, he is special and it is a shame that he didn't defect sooner.

what I saying is that Rigo learned and gained confidence after the Cordoba fight. Now you are seeing a "matador" who knowing how powerful and superior he is has decided not to outbox any fighter but destroy them with his best tool:punching power. Do not compare Rigo with any 119, 122 fighters please...Rigo belongs to a different world. Donaire will not have time to do anything in the ring, because as soon as he feels the first abdomen punch will do nothing but protect himself from being knocked out like every body else. Cordoba survived because Rigo was not confident about getting into 12 rounds by very first time, but sent him to hospital with hematuria(bloody urine)...You say it..!

People have questions about Rigo, if Donaire would ever dare get in the ring with him, all those questions will be answered.

You don't know if he's got a long way to go or not, magic balls don't exist so far.

The ONLY reason why Rigo didn't KO Cordoba was Cordoba's knowledge of Rigo's punching power , remember Cordoba had his training camp in Miami and he sparred with cubans in order to get used to that style , he KNEW ( Cordoba ) that he had to fight from outside and try to avoid Rigo's counter while hoping to catch him ( Rigo ) with his own counters , so what we saw was more of a chess match than a brawl , that's why some people ( MMM fans , not boxing fans ) found it boring and booed all night , Cordoba didn't fight that way when he fought Dunne , he had no respect for Dunne and he paid the price . Had he come to brawl with Rigo he would have gotten KO himself , and btw Rigo would have KO Dunne as well ,so you can't compare Rigo with Donaire based on that fight ( Cordoba ) alone , don't get me wrong Donaire is a great lil boxer , with a good boxing IQ , he is patient and knows when to look for the KO but so is Rigondeaux , Peace .

RIght i remember all the hype on JOrge Gonzalez, he was terrozing all the Hw in amatuer tournaments.. And not just any hw.. He was whupping guys like Bowe and Lewis.. This guy was like King Kong and yOung George Freman rolled into one... After an impressive run early on .. HE was dominated and kod by Bowe,, then kod by a past tit Witherspoon.. HE ended up being a journeyman losing to no hopers.. And this guy was dominant in the amatuers.... Same with Rmaon Garabey i remember when he first turned pro his mgrs,Promoters were saying he would be ready for Jones by his 8th fight:lol: Because of all his prestigious amatuer accolodes,, well he was a Cruiser contender briefly .. Then got fat and was just a journey man.... I could go on and on.. There have been other notalbes who choked as pros.

So far the only ones to live up to the hype have been Casamyor and Gamboa(so far) and although HOF material(Casamayor) i dont think he is an ATG..... Look what happen to Lara recently?
