Soliman legitimately beat Sturm and won his IBF title in May 2014. Because he was cheated out of the title, he had to wait 15 months for another crack at what was already rightfully his. In the meantime he fought Les Sherrington.

If Soliman had have had the IBF title in May 2014 he wouldn't have been wasting his time fighting Sherro next. He would have been making serious money overseas defending his title.

Soliman being cheated out of the IBF title effectively cost him 15 months of making serious money as champion whilst in the prime of his career.

 

The legal angle is interesting - avenues either via german civil law action or possibly EU anti-trust provisions as the body was a member state regulatory body charged with ensuring the proper conduct of bouts.
