who gives a fuk man he's got the belt and his next opponent should b a step up(we all hope)...n i dont think allot of dawson(u need 2 b a lot more than a grouse boxer 2 b champ 4 long):good
lots of uneducated, disrespectful and simply fkwit key board warriors out there! come stand in front of me and wear 10-20 jabs to the head, ribs and body in 3 minutes and see if you walk forward- let alone from green.
Dont try to justify Drews actions with shitty arguments like that, dude! It was obvious that Drews had very little intention of fighting - and it wasnt purely becuase green hit him. He had 30 odd opponents before him who Im sure Drews was very competitive with and there would definitely be ones similar to gree amongst them. If a fighter didnt want to fight, he didnt want to fight. simple.
I think people's expectations of Drews were way over hyped.. Briggs and Green are the most notable names on his resume imo, both of whom beat him convincingly. His performance was much of the same against branco (hesistant to exchange) and I think Green was intelligent in seeing this and played the right cards to take home the strap. If Drews' intentions of fixing the fight in order to cash in were true, why wouldnt he have approached dawson or tarver for a unification where he could have potentially made more money? Green was in the right place at the right time, did the job and walked away with a belt. Nuff said.
Who says he didnt?? You should know how all those promoters have to work around so much bull**** before a fight happens...
For anyone to suggest that Drews threw this fight they must be high on ice!!! It's ludicrous. The guy put in a **** performance but don't be so ******ed as to think it was in his interests to throw the fight. Green, nor anyone else, could pay Drews enough to make it worth his while. Keeping the title for just one more fight would pay much him, much, much, more! Put the poor Drews performance down to Green making life uncomfortable for the dirty Spiderman if you like or any other reason or excuse, but don't delude yourselve and discredit Green in the process by suggesting Drews threw it. That is just a deliberate low blow on Green which would warrant disqualification if it was in the ring!!!
And what makes you So damn sure?? By portraying your point with anger and distaste on this forum doesnt necessary make it so. If you've been doing any homework at all you would have known that Drews planned to retire after this match, but not only that, Uli Wegner admitted (after the fight) that drews had lost heart and motivation to box. So just because you've pasted a pic of Green over the centrefold of your playboy magazine doesnt prove that Drews didnt throw the fight. And if drews was gonna make this his last fight Green wouldnt need to fork out any more $ than he did. Now back to my Ice...
whoevr said the fight was fixed is a complete fool.drews ,if he hadnt tatsed greens power early on and not shat himself bout being ko'd,he could have fought and won the fuken fight ,then earned more money you ****ing imbeciles. you clowns, who are envious of the machine, dnt realise,of course he said im retiring .that was said the day after the fight ,after being humiliated by a ****ing wrecking ball. i dont think drews would earn much money out of boxing.so to end his earning capacity at its peak by 'throwing' a fight is plain flipping ludicrous!!! simple- he shat-green did his job. what more can u ask? oh, i forgot you heroes have all been in there!hate away insignificants-green will go down in history 4eva as the lightheavyweight champion of the world!!! blah blah blah pissants, he has something you haters ****ing crave--- a life!!!!!!!! oh, and a world title.a legitimate one at that.
hey knob head, uli wegner has nothing to do with drews! WTF are you on? his 'retirement' was brought up after he was humiliated by the green machine, the official WBA Champion of the World!!!:happy
Drews didn't throw the fight, he just didn't engage with Green - perhaps because he had lost his motivation to fight, perhaps because he tasted Green's power early on, perhaps because he was warned about dirty tactics by the ref before the fight and realised he couldn't use them on Green, and so decided to stay away form him once he realised Green was too strong for him. Who knows? All I know is, if a bloke has so little pride he is willing to throw his title away in that fashion, why not take a dive, instead of stringing it out for 12 rounds? There would be less shame in being KO'd by Green than staying away for 12 rounds and being accused of throwing the fight, eh? :deal
