Taking a fight you know you'll lose, just for a learning experience? It's not entirely without credit.

Turning up with deliberate fouls as part of your tactics is low, but it took guts to go in there knowing he was likely to get humiliated.

Certainly compared with Hrgovic who's only agreed to fight nobodies (including Zhang, at the time they fought - before Joyce, he'd only beaten jobbers).

No sign or voice from Hrgovic, as the days pass the event is getting closer, Hrgovic needs to react...

    He should react.

I'm not sure he "needs to".

Unless he's in danger of losing his mando status, he might want to avoid taking risks... Especially considering he's never really taken a risk at heavy (including Zhang, at the time) and his career's progressed just fine with zero risk.

On the other hand, he'll never develop if he never faces adversity and risks taking an L - in that sense, Dubois is showing him how it's done.

Dubois needs to shut up and work his way up the ranks. He only beat Miller and he thinks he's ready for Hrgovic lol.

Yeah, De Mori had an off night. We need to see the real De Mori in there.

    A) I'm not convinced that's true...
His ranking compared with his unproven record should make him very attractive to fight for guys wanting to gain ranking positions. Given his relatively small fanbase he doesn't bring much in terms of draw, though, and it's entirely possible (even probable) that he's demanding more money than he's really worth - that or he's actually happy sitting on his ranking until a title fight is available.

    B) Even if it is...
He needs to take more respectable fights anyway - losing to any kind of contender could wreck his reputation very quickly (that's just how boxing fans work, even if it's wrong)... Having a better body of work around gatekeeper level and above would help give him something to fall back on - in that sense it's probably a good idea to take fights against the likes of Dubois anyway.

Don't call me a liar - I have a different perspective from you, and I don't believe everything biased sources want me to believe, that's not remotely the same thing as lying.

Okay... But what sets Hrgovic higher up the ranks?

    Still having his zero?

Winning a 50/50 against Zhang (who himself has proved a limited amount - almost nothing at all outside of having Joyce's number)?

To be clear - BOTH Dubois and Hrgovic still have everything to prove... NEITHER is a proven top fighter by a long way.

taking a fight with the guy who holds most of the belts, for a career high payday. he'll never fight for a title again, unless fury digs his corpse up like he does chisora or whyte.

Depends how barren the scene becomes when the big names exit the stage.

Looking at what else is coming through, he'll get more title fights for sure IMHO - might never win one, but then again he just might... Time will tell.

I don't think the fairly high profile he's built, despite the losses, will hurt him in terms of being a worthwhile draw to get fights made.

    1) It is recorder by IBF orders, not calling out - fighters team singed it, Joshua and Ruiz could make that argument, other cant - you were presented with opportunity to become a mandatory, a rank #1 and with "unproven" fighter - there is no valid counteragrument, it is a duck. Example, Kabayel and Parker ducking Hrgovic, then fighting no-names, earning even less.

    2) Not even, it is what it is, you are twisting, history is history
    • He needs to take more respectable fights - after calling out top 15 contenders, from which every single one refused except Yoka and Zhang, latter refusing to rematch (video of proof posted on Boxing Social youtube)
    • Respectable fights are only top 10, beating anyone who is not in top 10, as a top 10 fighter wont give you credit.
    3) Nice standards you have - shame you dont apply it to Joshua, Wilder and Fury, one being beaten by fat slug, and cruiserweight, other had 10 defences against nobody, and got beat by only 2 top 10 opponents he faced, 4 times. And last ony, "lineal champ" ducking Klitcko rematch, defending once a year against Chisora, Whyte and Naganou + Usky duck year before, + Usyk duck on Dec 23 + getting dropped by non-boxer+Usyk duck Feb 17.

    :lol::lol::lol:

Why do you think the fanboys for all three of these guys don't agree with me very often?

I do slate these guys where they deserve it - especially Wilder and Fury, who especially deserve it.

He will get fights because he has a name because he is British, he is an easy win for anyone good.

    Same difference:
    He has a name = He's a draw = $$$

Regardless of whether he's anything special or not (or whether he develops and becomes good), he'll have some relevance and it'll get him fights - including title fights.

Say what you like about his current level, he's at least committed taking good fights...

And, for example, he has a FAR better pro resume than Jalolov (who half this forum seems to be certain is a future champ) - before we forget: Dubois is 3 years younger than Jalolov and 5 years younger than Hrgovic.

Realistically Dubois probably has about 8-12 years left, a recognisable name and a better resume than most fighters have by 26 years old... He's a long, long way from done.
