I think Dubois is one of the top operators out there at HW right now and he did finish off Wardley but 2 KDs is not easy. Had him as a big favorite as well but at HW there's always the chance of getting clipped and he did have to fight through adversity before he started dominating the fight
I honestly never understood why people rated Stiverne. After the 2 Arreola (who was clearly past it) fights he went 1-5 and the single win was a robbery against Rossy of all people. And before that he had already shown that he was just a jab magnet with a good chin, making the ghost of Ray Austin look like a prime Holmes until he finally got to him. If Vitali hadn't retired and fought him it would have been a bloody massacre, and after nobody had ever mentioned his name again.
Arreola was as good as he'd ever been when Stiverne beat him x2 with relative ease. He was a ranked contender, gave a good effort, but was stylistically overpowered by Stiverne's chin, handspeed, power and counter punching. Stiverne struggles horribly with movers of course, which is why old Austin gave him so many problems and why Wilder shut him out. Stiverne was finished after Wilder 1, but he showed a very good chin and heart in that fight. A weaker titlist but at his best his top 10 ranking was legitimate.
And the run has gotten even crazier. You can’t take anything from Dubois because he lost to the goat twice. Usyk stock went up even more after last night
I don't think Dubois deserved a shot at Usyk the 1st time. Dubois had at that time 0 wins over a top 10 rated opponent and had recently been dropped 3 times by Lerena. But I also blame Fury for that for giving Usyk the run around at that time.
I don't think that much of Miller TBH for me he's not a top 10 rated Heavyweight. I guess it was a good comeback win for Dubois and he showed some heart in the fight. But I still don't rate Miller that highly. Hrgovic is another one I'm not too high on. He has a good chin but he hasn't really stood out to me that much other than having a good chin. The win also has a bit of an asterisk over it because Dubois headbutted Hrgovic like a billy goat. The Joshua win on paper is very good but maybe the win hasn't aged quite as well because its quite clear Joshua is considerably past his best. All credit for the Wardley win because I wasn't sure if Dubois could win that fight. But I also think it showed Wardley hasn't got the skills needed to be a consistent winner at world level. In Wardley's last 2 fights he'd jumped up a considerable level because prior to that he'd been fighting at British level. And I think he overachieved based on his incredible toughness and having game changing power. Because really Huni basically won every round until Wardley found a hail mary right hand. And even Parker had a considerable lead until Wardley was able to gut it out in the end. So even in those wins Wardley wasn't winning based on his skills. He was winning based on something you can't teach which is a great chin and alot of heart. So whilst it deserves praise it also showed Wardley had plenty of weaknesses. I give Wardley alot of credit because he's a late starter to boxing. But as I said I think it's clear he hasn't got the overall skills needed at world level. So whilst Dubois has had a nice run and proved some of the doubters wrong. I'm still not totally sold on Dubois and I think he could easily lose to the likes of Kabayel or Itauma.
