Dubois v Wardley.

Great fight. I hope Dubois wins, but it could go either way obviously. I’d love to see Dubois outbox him in a measured performance becuase he is the far better boxer but I think when they both carry this power it’s never going to happen.

I hope Dubois wins too always had a soft spot for him and the Wardley white collar to world champion spiel is wearing thin.

 

I think wardley has show the ability to adjust. He's pretty slick defensively. I know they've sparred in the past when wardley was young. I think dd comes straight forward traying to blast you out. But he doesn't really adjust. He just sticks to the plan.
Just comes down to if dd can land those bombs or not.

 

This is one of those rare fights where I think market is completely wrong, but I can understand why it is wrong.

Dubois should be significant favourite here. He’s levels above Wardley, for me who has still not been properly tested at top level, with exception of Parker fight - which I thought was a good styles matchup for him. It’s only a couple of fights removed from Huni beating him up for 10 rounds, and a couple more from him going life and death with Clarke. He’s still incredibly hit able , and he hasn’t tasted the power of Dubois level. He’s arguably been outboxed in 3/4 of his most recent fights. I can’t get out of my head Gorman and Molina landing clean as well.

I think much of the question marks around Dubois’ is media driven. He can’t beat Usyk. He was a kid when he fought a man at the top of his game in Joyce and was ahead for most of the fight. He’s beaten boxers in Joshua and Hrgovic who are better than Wardley nd come through a gruelling fight with Miller. BTW no one else has beaten Miller to date. My only question mark would be what happens after 8 rounds if Wardley is still there firing - and he might be. But if that’s the case it will have been a long 8 rounds for Wardley..

 

Obviously this won’t get anywhere near the attention of the projected sideshow later in the year, but this is the real battle of Britain for me.

Could be over in a round, could turn into an absolute slugfest, or could even end up a complete borefest if both are too wary of what’s coming back to really open up. That’s what makes it interesting.

Rooting for Dubois, but I backed against Wardley in his last three fights and he’s made me eat it every single time, so feels impossible to write him off now, especially with him being the in form fighter out of the two.

 

My thoughts exactly. Wardley is a good guy on a nice run of form but I can’t see him winning this.

I like both guys, I think Wardley is gonna win it to be honest, but I 100% see why people say don't be suprised if Dubois gets it early

Yes I agree but they must be confident of getting the knockout, he could have taken this fight in 12 months time and still got the same if not better money

 

So many ways of looking at this fight, all week I've been thinking Wardley.. He's active, tough and even when he's out on his feet he can land a huge shot to turn the tide.
But then as someone else points out DD has the better wins over better opposition and in more convincing fashion as well and I go to DD winning.

Lets just hope its a good fight, DD's ring rust and he's been stopped 3 times doesn't bode well against someone who might be able to outlast and outland him BUT it's not a fight i'd bet on if it's close we might get a 2nd fight.

 

It's a great fight the first HW world title fight since Hide and Klitschko late 90's where both fighters come into the ring with over a 95% KO ratio each.

DDD if he wants to give himself the best chance to win he gets that jab going, he hits very hard and FW cuts badly around the nose. FW has a lot of heart and power but hasn't faced anyone with DDD power.

It's even money at the bookies but I do think DDD will win........the beauty being have not read anyone not wanting to see the fight, can't wait.

 

Great fight and a very appealing undercard. I will be glued to the TV all evening.

I keep going back and forth with the winner, ultimately despite my concerns about his mentality, I’ve settled on DDD Ko within 3-6 rounds.

 

One of the best main events for such a long time.

Some cracking undercard fights as well Rafferty vs Essuman should be brilliant.
