Quite why Roy Jones didn't wish to further test his greatness and go to Germany in order to fight Dariusz Michalszewski (or if it was proposed, why it never managed to happen) is beyond me.

 

You are simply reaching and I doubt you've really thought this through.

For example, Forrest was really a nobody and still struggling with the Raul Franks of boxing until he got his break vs Mosley, but what does he do then, he loses his momentum by immediately losing two in a row against Mayorga. His career never recovered.

Winky was also building up a buzz until he lost to Fernando Vargas so he had to start over again and by the time his name started to mean something DLH was headed to the end of his career by fighting fellow PFP and ATG's like Hopkins, Floyd and Pac.

There was a plethora of solid fighters somehow Floyd missed or ducked. Freitas, Spadafora (beat Floyd's butt in sparring), Mosley at LW to name a few more.
Guy has 50 fights yet somehow u can only count on one hand the number of elite fighters he faced around their primes.

 

It's rarely as simple as X ducked Y.

It's always the guy they don't like is ducking the guy they like.

 

Or the guy they like didn't duck the guy they didn't like for some reason which conveniently doesn't apply to all scenarios unless they too involve one of their other favorites.

 

I think you’re the one who’s reaching here. Now to your points, in order:

- First you call Forrest a nobody. Oscar definitely knew who he was, especially since they were both 1992 Olympians.

- Forrest definitely did not struggle with Raul Frank. He was dominating the first meeting until the accidental head but that resulted in a cut that immediately resulted in a No Contest. Forrest immediately set the record straight in the rematch by scores of 120-108 and 118-110 twice. So again, how was he struggling with the Franks of boxing?

- Nothing to dispute about the losses to Mayorga. Styles make fights and Mayorga is to Forrest what Barkley was to Hearns: a lesser fighter who just has the better fighter’s number.

- Winky got a raw deal against Vargas. That’s okay, the cream always rises to the top. I had the pleasure of attending Winky’s HOF induction ceremony. Meanwhile, I’m not too confident of Vargas getting in...unless he goes as a spectator.

- Now about these timelines: Winky was IBF LMW Champion from October 2001 to June 2004. Meanwhile Oscar was WBC LMW Champion from June 2001 to September 2003 and WBA Champion from September 2002 to September 2003. He also held the Ring Lineal title from September 2002 to September 2003. I question the legitimacy of The Ring title since Winky remained IBF Champion before/during/after Oscar’s “reign” as Ring Champion.

- Now about relevance: Vargas beat Shibata Flores for a VACANT WBA LMW title. Oscar the shrewd businessman/strategist that he is took the lower risk/higher reward unification fight with Vargas instead of Winky.

- So tell me now about how Winky’s name meant nothing to Oscar during the time that they both ruled the same division. This is like Crawford ignoring Spence or Charlo ignoring Hurd. It doesn’t happen, these guys definitely know who their contemporaries are in a particular weight class.

- Now on to the P4P and ATGs that you implied required Oscar’s attention over Winky: in 2003, Oscar defended his belts against Yori Boy Campas whose fights leading up to his opportunity were a KO’d 11 by Daniel Santos and a KO2 over George “Who the heck am I?” Klinesmith.

I look forward to your response. I’d also like you to explain how/why you think Oscar avoided Margarito. Remember, they were fighting at different weights and Oscar was well on his way out when Margarito was at the top of his game in 2007/8.

 

Not going to read all that, you've obviously made up your mind and I'm not trying to change it.

DLH's resume speaks volumes, and simply put, the idea that he ducked anyone is silly.

 

He is clean now. Just took the drug tests. You may very well be spot on that a lot of his cash went up his nose.

 

after wilder odds are he will disappear on a binge again. people that into coke don't just quit.

 

As you like. I choose to have some faith in the man, misplaced as it may be. He is not a good man, but there is not doubt that he has determination, and I do not believe that he lost 130 pounds and got clean for more coke money.

First you accuse me of not thinking this through. Then I present FACTS and you say you’re not going to read them. Sounds like a 8!+ch move to me.

 

Learn to differentiate between FACTS and opinions. That long rant you posted is chock full of your biased opinions sprinkled with a few factual numbers/dates(you did your research) that prove nothing.
